What you'll do

From the centre to suburbs on the off-beaten path we will visit places connected by the giant murals. They are the leading thread of this itinerary which is much more than a murals’ tour. Social aspects, history, architecture, anecdotes about Rome and a bit of culinary make the experience much more appealing and complete to understand some aspect of the Italian culture.

Let's start with an espresso in one of my favourite places that I'll be glad to offer you.

Trastevere and its narrow streets

Testaccio district: one of the hotspot of roman nightlife

Ex-slaughterhouse of Rome: something to visit!

Monte dei Cocci: the first artificial hill in the history

Piramide Cestia: yes in Rome there are pyramids and this is the best preserved

Ostienze district: the requalified area with all its murals

Gasometer: the old Roman gas container

Garbatella neighborhood: never heard about? Its structure as a garden city will get you pleasantly surprised

Tor Marancia: a real example of a redesigned periphery complex with its incredible giant murals

Aurelian Walls: the majestic walls that surround the old city center

The Tiber: we will ride along the banks of the river
Other things to note
Bike rentals is not included and it costs 10 euro. If you need I can book it for you. Please if you are alone and you want to book send me a message before booking, thank you!

I'm a curious person. I love to ride bicycle and surf, as well as many other outdoor activities.

When travelling around the world, I like to discover all sorts of things. Meeting locals and listen to their stories it's always a pleasure. When I'm home, I do the same: I like to share stories and anecdotes of my city.

In the recent years I started promoting cycling more and more in my city. I’m a member of Rebike, an association that promotes sustainable mobility through unconventional bicycle itineraries and elementary school projects.

Where you'll be

I love to start the ride from my neighborhood: Trastevere. I was born and raised here when the area was still full of artisan shops and you could count restaurants on the fingers of one hand. We will then leave the centre passing by Testaccio, Ostiense and Garbatella districts. We will visit a real example of urban requalification in Tor Marancia and at the end we will ride along the banks of the Tevere river.

This is an authentic one of a kind experience. If you’re looking for tourist traps then this is not the place... BUT if you’re looking for a local to show you around at the best spots and hidden gems, you are at the right place! :) Nico took his time explaining the neighborhoods to us and made sure we all felt comfortable. I highly recommend this for people who love up-and-coming neighborhoods. Every place we went to had great ambiance and was amazing. Thanks again Nicola!

Esperienza unica per vedere una parte di Roma meno turistica ma più vera. Abbiamo visto dei bellissimi murales, fatto discese divertenti e pedalato anche sul lungo Tevere. Assolutamente consigliata anche con i bambini. Nicola è molto gentile, disponibile e preparato!

This graffiti tour was great! I saw amazing graffiti in very special areas in Rome where I would'nt have arrived by myself. It's so interesting and inspiring to know more about these places by someone who lives there and is so passionate about graffiti. Nicola is a wonderful guide, he gives a lot of information but also give space to experience things by yourself. I would highly recommend this tour, maybe the best tour I did in Rome! Doing this all on a bike provides a sense of freedom. Nicola give' s you also ' an inside in Italian life' Wonderful experience!

Nicola is a lovely guy who loves to show his city and perspectives to other people. He even opened up a workplace filled with beautiful art so I could have a look around and afterwards we had lunch together at the foodstall of his brother, which was great as well. I was the only one on the tour but that didn't make it any less interesting. He knows a lot about the history of Rome and doesn't hesitate to tell more about anything, you simply have to ask. After all, great experience!!

We had a great ride and the art was really exceptional. I normally wouldn't want to ride a bike through the streets of Rome but Nicola made me feel like it was safe and easy - just follow him! Felt good to be on a bike as a nice change from all the walking, too. Highly recommend!
