Hello! I'm Mitsu, please call me mickey.

I'm studying "the taste training with a gelato" while my studying under madam Noriko, and creating Gelato Art from 10 years ago.
Madame Noriko opened the gelato shop in Kyoto at the verry first in 1985.
Her artistic gelato caught the attention of the media, so the shop got a lot of coverage.
We have produced a novel gelato with creativity and originality in the motto of a genuine, good for health, hand-made, Additive-free.

To make a parfait is express yourself.
Let's make your own parfait with Japanese theme!

The overall experience was A+. Mickey's hospitality was absolutely exceptional. We were treated like royals. Our kids had an incredible time making desserts and learning the art. The best part of the whole experience was meeting Mickey's mom and hearing her inspirational story. Yes, that's how connected we were after spending just an hour. After we were done, Mickey came out to help us get a taxi while it was pouring, he stood there with us drenched until we got our taxi. Japan is a special country! (Bow)

It was quite a serendipitous encounter. My 6th grader's friend happened to come across "Making creative Japanese parfait". At first, it seemed like a teaser for further on-site purchases. It was far more than making ice-cream desserts. Madam Oki and her family are not your typical gelato makers. They are the unofficial ambassadors of Japanese tradition merged with contemporary multiculturalism of Kyoto. In addition to serving us a number of delectable frozen treats, the Okis made us feel so comfortable that none of us wanted to leave. They treated us like life-long friends rather than one of a gazillion tourists. The experience was far more than learning about gelato. The gelateria is not in the most popular sightseeing districts, which may be a turn off. Consider combining the trip with visits to Shimogamo Shrine and/or Nijo Castle, both of which are world heritage sites. Otherwise, the Okis will be more than happy to suggest other off the beaten path sites you won’t regret visiting. A must go.

We had a great time making gelato art with Mickey. Mickey is incredibly kind and cordial, and speaks great English. My husband had more of a “vision” for his gelato and I needed more help with mine and Mickey picked up on that right away and helped me put together some decorations and offered lots of helpful suggestions to both of us. You can tell he’s very passionate about his work and is very knowledgeable and creative. The gelato was also absolutely delicious. We bought some of the high-grade matcha gelato to take back with us to our Airbnb and I highly recommend doing so because it’s unbelievably good. The whole experience was great, low-pressure, and a lot of fun.

This class was an absolute delight! My boyfriend and I accidentally showed up about 20 minutes early due to the bus schedule, and Mickey was happy to give us tea and cake and let us hang out while they prepared the class supplies. Mickey was warm, welcoming, and a patient teacher who walked us through making gelato parfaits of our own with homemade decorative ingredients.
