What you'll do

Studio 42’s 3-hour Jewellery Class is a creative adventure where students learn the skills to design and create a piece of silver jewellery from scratch. It’s a hands-on class full of learning, laughing and producing something exceptional to take away.

WHAT CAN YOU EXPECT?
To start, you will do a quick trial project to get comfortable with the tools and equipment, covering techniques such as sawing, filing, soldering and polishing.
With your new skills, you will then have the freedom to design and develop a piece of silver jewellery of your choice. Depending on your designs, you may also incorporate disc cutting, roller printing, doming, texturing and blackening the metal; all skills that your instructor Jess will be there to advise you on.

WHO IS THIS CLASS FOR?
Every skill level is welcome to join this 3-hour class. From complete beginners to seasoned pros, everyone can make Studio 42 their own. If you do have previous jewellery making skills, you are more than welcome to work independently at your level.

This 3-hour class is one of Queenstown’s “must-do” experiences and a great rainy-day option for solo travellers, couples or the whole family!

Naturally, both me and my partner came in with big ambitious ideas. Jess was an amazing teacher, and a genuinely thoughtful host. She reigned us in when we needed, but let us get crazy creative too. We got to use all the fun tools, and my partner even got to make his own ingot in a teeny tiny forge, which of course was his favourite thing. It was so much making in Jess's space with her guidance. You'll be so surprised what you can create! This was definitely the highlight of our whole trip and I'll be bringing my whole family next time.

Absolutely brilliant! Don’t hesitate, book your place! My 19 year old daughter, my partner and I totally loved the experience. You’ll be amazed what you can make in 3 hours and how pro it not only looks but is. My partner made his daughter a silver ring with “Love Dad xxx” stamped inside it which will be such a special gift for her!

Just book it… You won’t be disappointed. Myself and my partner walked out with 2 beautiful pieces of contemporary jewellery which we’ll actually wear. Jessica was thoughtful in providing guidance in the making process, and with some patience and careful listening, you can easily walk out with something you’ll be proud to show off & share a story about. Thanks so much for a wonderful afternoon, Jessica. - Troy & Will
