What you'll do

From the providers of the famous Rainforest Water Slide Tour comes another adventure.

Please note! The experience starts at 8am, not 12noon as listed and is about 3 hours in total.

We will start hiking at the bottom of a beautiful river, climbing over rocks until we get to multiple indigenous Taíno rock carvings - so called Petroglyphs - which survived 600-1000 years for you to see it up-close. After a short stop and some information about these amazing people who inhabited Puerto Rico, we will start our ascend of the river canyon along stunning rock formations and waterfalls, with a truly epic view of the valley beneath us. Further up, we will get our reward with some relax time in pools right above the waterfalls, before we make our way back down to have fun on a rope swing.

Transportation is not included & Uber is not available at this location. Get in touch with us for more information. Two people minimum to host the Taino Canyon Tour!

IMPORTANT: We would love nothing more than offer this tour to every guest, but due to the terrain, it's dangers and your personal safety, this tour is only suitable for guests with normal or average weight and who are in good physical shape.

If you want to get off the beaten path and get your heart rate up I suggest this tour with Chris who helps you out with climbing the huge boulders! There were chances to cool off in a few swimming holes and even though Im not a swimmer Chris encouraged me to get in the water. My sis who is more adventurous then I did get to enjoy that part more as well so no fret if you can not swim lol. Apparently where Chris took us was the backside of EL Yunque so really off the concrete trails which was cool. I did stub my toe a bit which made the climb down a bit difficult but manageable. The Taino carvings were interesting as well as some info on insects in the rainforest. Chris took all our pics which was best so we didnt risk losing our phones. Trust his words you do have to be fit because some of the crevices are not meant for obese people fortunately my sis and I are tiny so no issues there. Great experience!

Please heed the notice in the description of being able to physically go on this tour...this was a lot of rock climbing and making sure you were being safe, but the views were SO WORTH IT! Chris was extremely patient and was prepared with fun facts as we hiked up on rocks that were the size of small houses. Make sure you have GRIPPY SHOES! I ended up hiking barefoot in some areas and it worked well for me since my shoes weren't the best for the terrain. If you're ready to sweat and work a bit for the breathtaking views of waterfalls and taking swims in private little areas as you go up the mountain, this tour is for you! Chris was extremely cautious of safety conditions and that in turn made us feel comfortable with the tour. We'd definitely take the tour again on our next trip back to PR
