An unique experience to walk with me and my friendly dog Kobe along hidden paths on the wild Atlantic Way sharing stunning vistas across Galway Bay to the hills of Clare and the Aran Islands and inland through traditional bog lands with unspoiled natural plant and animal habitats where you might see Connemara ponies, donkeys, seals and much more. We will complete this looped 10km walk at a pace to suit everyone who would like to join me to share these wonderful places. If you are short of time or energy you could along on our new 5km walk. Hi I am Irene, born and living in Galway I have a huge love for my local area.My Newfoundland Kobe and I love to explore off the beaten track. This is one of our favorite walks showing the very best of the West of Ireland. I've trained in the hospitality industry and worked in many places around the world but this is home. Everyone loves Kobe and he loves everyone
Where you'll be
The walk will take us along small tarmacked roads, gravel paths though the bog and along the sea shore which can be rocky or sandy depending on the tides. This walk is for those who wish to walk off the beaten track and explore the serene unspoiled countryside.

This was a wonderful experience & I highly recommend to anyone visiting Galway! There wasn't a date available when I was in town, but I messaged Irene a few weeks before & she happily added a date to accommodate me. You go on about a 6 mile walk at a pretty good pace, and see the coast & bog areas. Kobe is an adorable dog & keeps to himself so if you are the kind of person who hates when dogs jump all over you, you will enjoy Kobe :)
Irene has great info about the area & is generally a very pleasant lady to chat with. I never would have found this walk on my own. Great value for a great experience in Galway!

It was a really nice experience. Irene is very friendly and knowledgeable about the history and the traditions of the countryside which she shares with you during the walk. You get to explore both the coast and the bog, and amazing scones and coffee await you after the walk. Her dog Kobe is lovely too!

Ballade très sympathique en compagnie de Koby et Irène. Une partie bord de mer wild atlantic way et l'autre partie marais de tourbe. Évidemment sous le soleil c'est très agréable ! On croise des ânes , des chevaux, des moutons et même des phoques !

This was a great experience. Although the weather was really bad, it still was a really nice walk. Irene even had waterproof pants for me (which was really needed). Irene told me so many interesting facts, and was a really good guide. Kobe was a really nice dog, and it was funny watching him roll in the sand and run through the puddles. The walk wasn’t too hard either. The scones and the blackcurrant jam in the end were amazing too.
