What you'll do

This family and dog-friendly experience will be guided by a seasoned professional, Peter Hall. We will all meet up in front of the office, Leadville Concierge Services, on 420 Harrison Avenue. Peter will have everyone follow him in their cars to Turquoise Lake for a short leisurely hike through the wooded area by the lake that is surrounded by Colorado's highest mountain range. The trip will be filled with valuable knowledge about the local plants, animals, and activities. This experience will consist of hiking approximately 2-3 miles roundtrip. This hike is considered easy. It is a relatively flat trail filled with gorgeous views. After the experience, Peter Hall will have everyone follow him back in their vehicles back to starting point at 420 Harrison Avenue. This would be an energetic opportunity for visitors to become more familiar with Leadville, to learn historic facts, to absorb outdoor knowledge of the area, and to understand the local biodiversity.

Where you'll be

Five miles west of Leadville sits Turquoise Lake, one of Colorado’s favorite high-altitude recreation destinations. Dammed in the 19th century and named for the rare turquoise deposits found nearby, Turquoise Lake offers 1,800 acres or year-round recreational fun. We will be exploring Turquoise Lake on our hikes.

We loved our tour and can’t wait to book with Peter again. He is knowledgeable, friendly, and energetic and I’d recommend his services.

Great hike! Peter was super upbeat and we got to interact with the beautiful environment while he informed us about some if its history. The hike itself was not difficult and he checked on us often to make sure we were comfortable, which was much appreciated! Ask him about some of his favorite local spots!
