What you'll do

We're running this tour and we're happy to have you! :)

On this tour, we are delving into the Pest side of things. We explore the downtown of Budapest on the east bank of the Danube River. Pest is the younger part of the capital that - being the fastest growing city in the last decades of the 19th century - is today the bustling metropolis of Hungary, making it the absolute center of education, politics, nightlife - and sights to see!

We learn about the history of Pest, about the different mentality of Pest and Buda residents and we give you an account of how is it to live here today: for us, for the young, for the old and for the expat community. We are not afraid to answer any question & enter any topic about Budapest and Hungary.

Pest-side stories - Tour highlights include:
Saint Stephen's Basilica
Heroes' Square
Vajdahunyad Castle and the City Park
Riding the oldest underground of the European continent
An open conversation about Budapest
Learning about local stories, history, personal stories and urban legends
Other things to note
We are going to use subways (escalators, steps), trams and buses on the tour.

Unique perspective, not just history. Agnes is thoughtful and shared her city in a personal way allowing time when we were especially interested in our stops. I thoroughly enjoyed this tour.

The tour was a great historical perspective of the town. It’s always great to understand some of the history of a place to understand the culture - especially in a country that has as complicated of a history as Hungary. Nandor was very personable and put up with all the questions I peppered him with.
