What you'll do
(SKU: LK50A01C00) We will start the Jeep tour from the main entrance of the Park near the car park. Firstly, your driver will escort you to Park ticket counter for you to purchase the relevant entrance tickets to enter the park.
Once we go through the standard process of entry into the park, we will venture into the untamed wild of Udawalawe which is a famous home to the majestic Sri Lankan Elephants.
We will first journey into the savanna grasslands of the park in the hopes of seeing elephants, foxes, deers, water buffalos, hares, mongooses, bandicoots while also keeping an eye out for crocodiles in the wetland areas and also birds such as the Sea Eagle, the Fishing Eagle, Brahminy Kite, Crested Serpent Eagle, Sri Lankan Jungle Fowl, Spur Fowl, Green Pigeon, Sri Lanka Grey Hornbill, Spot-billed Pelican, Little Cormorant, Green Bee-eater, Crested Tree Swift in and among the trees.
Soon we will make our way to the banks of the stunning Udawalawe Reservoir with huge mountains in the back drop. You will get to see groups of crocodiles resting in the banks or swimming about the lakes, vibrant birds of prey going fishing and also many other birds and animals including herds of elephants visiting to quench their thirst and take a rest.
Upon completion of the tour, we will bring you back to the entrance of the Park.
Other things to note
Once you meet us at the car park to get on your jeep, you driver will conduct the tour in the best routes for animal spotting on the day while also sharing valuable information on the animals you see

Part of my team is Chamika, a local of the Udawalawe area helping me with organizing all arrangements. We work with a team of driver-trackers who have immense experience in conducting Udawalawe Safaris. There's no situation we are not prepared for, no trail we haven't experimented with.
We take great pride in providing guests with the best safari experience inside the park, providing efficient service with the help of Airbnb

Our guide was really nice! But he didn’t have such knowledge althought he was speaking good english. Communication was super and they came to pick us at our accommodation. We really appreciated our safari. It was especially for my girlfriend because personnaly I went to Tanzania so of course it’s was more impressive with much more animals. I recommend this tour for the price!

We had a wonderful time in the nationalpark. Nice to go early in the morning to catch the morning light and sounds. Really enjoyed the whole experience. It was calm and no stress and very good that they turn off the engine while standing still and watching the animals.
The guide from the park was also very good and respected the animals.

We got a good guide that spoke English very well. Actually, this Safari is hosted by a company and not a private host. So it did not feel special or ”rare” like many other Airbnb experiences. The safari itself was average. A lot of elephants but not anything else really. Ok experience overall but not something I would go on again.

What an amazing experience. I wouldn't highly recommend doing this. Seeing the animals was incredible and thanks to Ruwans brilliant knowledge of the park and fantastic eye for spotting animals we were able to see loads of elephants, deer, water buffalo, crocodile, monkeys, jackals, a variety of birds and lizards. There were a couple of occasions I felt a bit sorry for the elephants as they were surrounded and blocked by jeeps and everyone was trying to get as close as possible. But this is a problem for the national park to resolve and nothing to do with Amilas experience. One thing I did really love is that we were taken along quieter routes for most of the afternoon with hardly any other jeeps, we were alone for quite a long time and when we stopped the jeep we could hear how silent it was. The knowledge of our guide Ruwan was fantastic and he gave us lots of information about the animals.
The experience as a whole was well organised. We were picked up and dropped off by the driver who was also really nice. And we were given cold water on the journey too!
