What you'll do

The tour will start in my shop, which is one of the many sort of coworkings for crafstmen that are based in the district.
We wil ride through the different scenarios of this interesting and not very well known district full of amazing contrasts; from the old abandoned factories to the still preserved original neighborhood and the modern seafront.
Although you will use upright bicycles during the tour, for safety reasons, you will of course have the opportunity to ride in one of my handmade recumbents during the multiple stops that we will make during the route.
Other things to note
If you find it hard to get to my shop we can meet at Poblenou subway station (the station has only one exit at the crossing of Pujades with Bilbao street) and from there walk to my shop.

My personal background is very eclectic; I studied design, arts and crafts, aircraft maintenance and aero engineering. Now I do what I like the most; designing and building with my hands in a communal workshop shared with other craftsmen in Poblenou who are also passionate about their work.

The tour was really fun and great history lesson. I recommend this tour to all. Oriole is very knowledgeable about the city and took us to see some great artist and views.

What a cool experience! If you're looking for a look at a side of Barcelona most travelers will never see, you need to check this out. Oriol is a brilliant "mad scientist" bicycle maker with a really neat shop in the middle of a re-purposed abandoned factory district in Barcelona. We visited an artists' co-op in a beautiful abandoned factory, saw the many phases of Barcelona architecture while cycling through an often overlooked part of the city, and checked out a unique sea view that gave a perspective on how architecture has evolved in the city over the past 2 centuries. Oriol is a fantastic host, his enthusiasm is contagious, and he has an amazing understanding of architecture, especially in Barcelona. I learned a ton, got a new appreciation for architecture/urban planning in general, and enjoyed seeing Barcelonans outside of the usual touristy spots. I heartily recommend this experience to anyone looking for a look into a very interesting yet often overlooked side of this amazing city, and hope to attend again once I am back!

Merci.

This tour was one of the highlights of my trip. Oriol was a complete gentleman, he met me at the metro because I was a little bit worried about getting lost and not too sure of the neighborhood. His bikes are really fun to ride, and he was very patient and attentive while I got comfortable using the bike and travelling both on realtively quite roads as well pavements. The stops that he selected were well chosen and when I left I felt that I had really experienced the neighborhood and understood both the older traditional barcelona, the huge impact of the olympic games on the area and factories as well as how gentrification was both good, but also threatened the traditional way of life in Poblenou. I strongly recommend this tour to all visitors. I spent 6 days in Barcelona and I did not get to see everything. But this tour was highly personalised and lots of fun. Definitely would be on my list for the next trip.
