What you'll do

Join me for a special opportunity to learn more about Afro-Brazilian history. We’ll visit the place where millions of African slavers arrived in Brazil. The region was a former slave market in the 17th century and it was one of the largest ones in the Americas. We’ll explore the region known as Little Africa—where samba was born, the Quilombos were formed, and much more.

Thaís Rosa

I have my master’s in Social Memory, and have researched the Quilombos communities for more than five years. I developed Connecting Territories, which has the purpose of connecting people to the heritage and memory of Afro-Brazilian history, in addition to traditional communities such as Quilombos and urban populations. I love samba and the many cultures in Brazil.
