What you'll do

We will meet at a neighbourhood coffee place , where you can purchase a warm beverage and go for a leisurely walk in this special neighbourhood to a lookout point for photos over McNeil Bay. We can stop and talk about the activity in the Bay, tides, animals( including whale sightings, when lucky) and continue down a path amongst a native Garry Oak Meadow with unique plants. We will make our way down to the ocean and walk along a flat section of a beautiful pebble beach. Then I will take you back ( 10 Minutes) to your starting point where you can enjoy a yummy snack on your own at great local deli.
Other things to note
We will be walking for about two hours.. wear sturdy shoes, covered toes and prepare to feel the offshore breezes when we get near the ocean. Bring your curiosity and sense of humour, too!

Paula is a great hostess! She was well prepared , knowledgeable; cares about her community. She introduced us to two neighbour businesses- a flower shop/yummy bakery and a delicious deli! She made sure we were safe on our walk ; took rests and provided us with a treat from a local chocolate shop! It’s definitely a walk we recommend whether you live here or are visiting !!We will be telling our friends/family!

Very nice tour of the local area. It was informative and entertaining . Paula was a gracious host and made the tour special. We could not have done this tour on our own as we would have had no idea where to go.

Paula has a passion for the area, I went on unique trails and beautiful vistas. History, culture and a chance to see marine life as well as the forest plants.

Had a great little hike around a wooded area known as Anderson Hill Park. Paula introduced the local flora and fauna while describing the historical background of the area. The ecology of the area was very interesting as was that of the close by seashore. With the warm weather, make sure to bring sunscreen with a hat and in any weather a pair of hiking shoes will be a bonus. Most of the steep part of the hike was downhill, up to the top was mostly paved.

Paula was a fantastic host and we had a really memorable time on our walk. She is very knowledgable about the area - telling us so much about the coast and ecosystems. The wildlife is amazing. We even saw a seal!! My partner (who lives in the local area for many years) found out so much even he didn’t know! We would definitely recommend this experience!😊

Paula was an amazing host, who showed a side to Victoria that I'd never discovered before. The scenery and company made it an incredibly memorable afternoon - I'd highly recommend this experience.
