What you'll do
The visit starts from the entrance door from which the shipyard opens, the history of the shipyard is told through the events and the events over the years, you will see all the equipment used in those years and how the naval technologies have changed with respect to the past. Continuing in the heart of the yard of about 5000 square meters, we will see the slipways and cranes to move the boats. Currently the yard has about 30 employees and passing through the various departments we will see the staff at work !! The yard was founded by my great-great-grandfather and I am the fifth generation that after 100 years the shipyard has seen and lived the Venetian affairs in first person

Hi! I' m Venetian and I want to show you some beautiful places of the Venice lagoon like the island of Giudecca... that only the Venetians know!! I love to sail Venice by boat and this is the best way to have a nice experience!! I am a naval engineer and my passion for the sea has been transmitted to me by my family. In the yard you will see 100 years of naval history and how the engineers of the past did the work with the technologies of that period.

Where you'll be
The island of Giudecca in the past was the Venetian industrial pole, there were shipyards, carpenters, film companies, breweries, and much more!!
If you really want to do something different, that is close to Venice’s heart, this is the experience for you! A well informed and friendly host, easy to locate the experience, and a super interesting experience that you would normally never get access to. Highly recommended.

Mario is so kind and genuine, and it came through in the attention he gave to us and his stories about his fifth generation shipyard. Really wonderful to see how he bounced back from the floods and is maintaining the family business! Thank you for sharing your life with us!

Diego, one of the great-great grandsons of the man who started the shipyard, was a great host. My two friends and I were the only ones on the experience that day, and it was one of the highlights of our Venice stay. Diego showed us all round the shipyard, explaining things to us very clearly, and I learned a lot. Seeing the vaporettos and their stops being repaired gave me a new insight into the waterbuses I was riding each day! He also shared information with us about the business and its employees and about living in Venice. He was friendly and personable and obviously passionate about his subject. I'm so glad we booked this experience.
