What you'll do
Enjoy a magical coastline hike starting from the charming fishermen town of Boca de Tomatlan to the isolated town of Las Animas, crossing several hidden beaches such as Colomitos, Madagascar, La Troza, Maraikas and El Caballo, all of them gorgeous beaches that few people know. Along the way, we will cross 5 km of tropical jungle where we might watch a variety of birds, crabs and iguanas. If we are really lucky, we might watch a stingray, a sea turtle or a whale at the sea. Swim and enjoy Colomitos and amaze yourself with a huge variety of natural landscapes while we take you some pics with our Rebel T6 Camera. Plus we can bring some Snorkeling gear (available upon request only) Enjoy a delicious breakfast from Elforoteo (My brothers' Cafe) and a Mexican Cinnamon Coffee, a cocktail or a beer at one of Las Animas' sea restaurants. You might enjoy sea food there too (optional) or have another swim. We will return back in an aquataxi back to Boca de Tomatlan.

I am Israel Andalón, a professional dancer and a former Engineer that loves hiking, traveling and meeting new people. I am an Airbnb Experiences Community Leader and I have been living in Puerto Vallarta for more than 15 years. For more than two years, I have committed to show visitors the most beautiful wonders in the region, being this hike to Colomitos and Las Animas one of the hikes I like the most. I have a deep knowledge in the area. I love its nature and its people and I have organized several activities to keep it clean. I speak a fluent Spanish and English and I have a fair good french and portuguese. I love to talk and to learn from the culture of the guests of this hike.

Where you'll be
We will drive my Pikamobile along the highway south of Vallarta. During the trip we will appretiate different beaches. We will arrive to Boca de Tomatlán, a charming fishermens' town at Horcones River. We will cross the mountain covered by beautiful palms and Ficus. After 1 km, we will arrive to Colomitos beach, one of the smallest beaches of México, unreachable by car. We will have a break and then continue the hike to Las Animas.
Excelente recorrido! Gracias Israel!

This hike is wonderful. it is in mostly shaded areas. It is a lot of uphill climbing but often the path is paved and even has stairs! it is a challenging hike, but that is what makes it so interesting, and makes you feel so good when you are done. The water taxi back is good ride. I think if I did it often enough and built up strength I would like to hike both ways. I am not sore in any muscles after two days rest so I don't think I worked my muscles lenough although I did have to stop several times to catch my breath. I always felt safe because the trail was wide enough, but there are a few times you can't look down because we were so high up. So it was exciting and challenging, and the food and drinks were very nice. There is a bar at the last beach where we ate, waiting for the air taxi
