What you'll do

A tour takes you to the most enigmatic cenotes of Tulum: Grand Cenote, Escondido and Cenote Cristal, to explore the variety of caverns, underground rivers & open sinkholes that fill the Mayan forest, plus riding a fun jungle trail on MTB that only locals know about.

Considered by the ancients as portals into the underworld, the cenotes are on of the major attractions of the region. Filled with history and mystery, these special places are home to amazing rock formations, archaeological remains from the Ice Age and the Maya, visible sections of underground rivers and loads of fun swimming in the clearest water you are likely to swim in, ever!

We will explore 3 different cenotes, each very different from the other, allowing you to get a feel for the variety that exist (there are thousands), ride our quality mountai bikes through the forest and stop in a beautiful jungle oasis for a delicious brunch.

This is an experience off the beaten track, 100% by bike, visiting the cenotes early before the crowds arrive, allowing us to enjoy great snorkeling, swimming, new friends, great food and a bit of off-road biking (easy level) in the peace of the forest.
Other things to note
This is an experience where our means of transport is a bike.
You need prior experience riding a bike.
We use good quality MTB.
Total 13km/7mi - paved & unpaved roads (uneven forest trail - its fun!)

Cenote Cristal - A beautiful open cenote surrounded by lush jungle, it's name refers to the crystal-clear turquoise water.
Cenote Escondido - An open cenote with little caves, loads of fish & underwater flora, great to snorkel.
Brunch at Meli-Melo Jungle HIdeaway.
Off-road forest trail for MTB.

Our guide was Santiago. We were offered some fruit, granola bars, and water before getting our bikes set up and starting the tour. He is a wonderful guide, and keeps a sharp eye on you when biking around. Each cenote had it's own little tour, with historical explanations, stories, etc. The brunch out in the woods was perfect, every ingredient fresh from the garden.

This was a great trip, in line with the positive reviews on Airbnb. It was exceptionally well organised, with special care and attention paid to my family’s specific circumstances (eg young children not totally adept at riding mountain bikes over the bumpy muddy jungle trail). The brunch spot was very special, the cenotes are amazing, and we felt always very well taken care of. Our guide, Juan Carlos, was brilliant - knowledgable, competent and easy-going. Highly recommended!

Fantastic time! I absolutely advise you try to do the tour with Niko. He is so friendly and personable and will make you feel super comfortable. He’s also incredibly knowledgeable about the areas. He single-handedly made it a great experience.

What a magical adventure! I felt like a real mermaid. From the scenic bike ride to the snorkeling in the cenotes with the turtles to the jungle lunch which was beautiful and delicious. Juan Carlos was the very best tour guide, so many great stories and we felt like friends at the end. (Doesn't hurt that he's gorgeous and funny! haha) Highly recommend!

Very organized and felt very safe. The guide was very safe and allowed for cyclists of all levels to attend. There was humor, history, and terrific food provided. Loved all of the stops we made, and allowed time for us to dive into all the different Cenotes. DO NOT SWALLOW THE CENOTE WATER. Although this is "drinking water", I accidentally ingested some on my plunge, and immediately after felt ill for a few hours, and then the next 12 hours were another story you don't want to hear about. :)
