What you'll do

This private family trip for 3 people or more, combines Tulum ruins & Muyil's "lazy river": simply the perfect balance between history and fun in amazing nature for all ages!
We'll explain the essentials about the mayan culture and its relation with the jungle with no overwhelming info but what can be interesting and remembered, it's a short visit of Tulum ruins and a boat ride to let you enjoy some water fun time in family.
The canals of Muyil are a natural "lazy river", part of the most important nature reserve (Sian Ka'an) where we won't miss the chance to climb the viewing tower for some fresh air at the top.
We'll bring some yummy food catering for the picky ones of the family, but giving the chance to try something authentic, a picnic is the best way to enjoy this part of our trip @kaeruprivatetours ;)

Incredible doesn’t begin to describe this experience! I will remember this for the rest of my life. The Sian Kaan lagoons, jungle walk, and the amazing canal “lazy river” are truly indescribable. Do not miss this opportunity because I’ve never seen anything like this anywhere in the world. Finally, the restaurant she took us to was authentic and delicious. Our guide, Andrea, was super accommodating and tailored our adventure to our interests. She made us feel so comfortable and welcome. The depth and breadth of her knowledge are invaluable—we learned so much about the Mayan culture, ecology of the Yucatán (and specifically Muyil).

This was the absolute best tour guide we've ever had. She had vast knowledge of the locals, land, wildlife and history. There is no way we could have received the same experience with anyone else, anywhere else. We did a private tour, and it was well worth it. All day from Muyil to the Cenotes further away to getting tacos at a local spot in Tulum to wrap it up. We really connected with her through our time, and will absolutely be joining her again soon. <3 Thank you Alejandra. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND YOU BOOK THIS IF YOU WANT TO EXPERIENCE SOMETHING UNIQUE AND SPECIAL.

Ticaconda had very prompt and easy to understand communication. We had a flight issue and she worked around our change of schedule even though, according to Airbnb change or cancelation policy she was not obligated to do so. The Muyil ruins are interesting, but they are not as impressive or extensive as Coba or Tulum. The unique and forever memorable portion of this experience in the Muyil lagoon and canal float. Though this portion took well over an hour, it felt too short. The float was totally magical as Ticaconda explained the history and use of the canals and pointed out different plants among the mangroves as we floated and talked liked old friends about the Yucatan and the people past and present. Tica arranged for us to go on one of the early boats, explaining that later there would be vans arriving and many people. She was correct. While we floated in the canal we did not see any other people, but upon our return to the dock many full boats were taking off across the lagoon. Tica served us homemade tamales with a plethora of unique toppings and salsas. You can tell she enjoys people and sharing her knowledge of Mayan history and culture as the life of the people of her community.

What an amazing day!!! This was something we would have never gotten to do on our own! It was a unique experience. When I got home and told my friends about our trip to Tulum this experience is the thing people are intrigued with. I was not familiar with the area and knew I wanted to explore more than just the "top 10 things to do near Cancun". This was defiantly not a generic tour. In fact it was not at all a tour, just as air bnb describes, this was an experience. I felt like we enjoyed a beautiful, relaxing day with a passionate local excited to show us some lesser known treasures. She was great at communicating prior and we met up easily at a market near our air bnb. She was prompt, warm, welcoming, and relatable. I was delighted to realize this was a private tour and we were the only ones (maybe that's in the description, but I forgot). I can't say enough about the "lazy river" float through the mayan built canals!! It was so serine, one of those moments in life that recharges your soul. We did not have a waterproof camera and so we do not have pics of this part, and I must say I like it that way. The image and memory of slowly gliding through crystal blue water will forever stay safe in my mind. Highlights: morning light on the Caribbean blue lagoon, standing on the shore with thousands of butterflies, seeing a baby alligator. Next we made our way to the ruins. We had been in town for a bit and seen other ruins. This was the least crowded spot we found on our trip to Tulum. Getting to appreciate the park with no crowds was lovely. Our hostes had a casual and easy approach to explaining the history and culture. She descriptions were educational without being a lecture. We bonded over an orphan squirrel that was rescued by the park ranger. I have great respect and support for Ticagonda's heartfelt dedication to the ecological needs in the area and the world!!! Her "eco tour" approach is part of what attracted me to this experience. Highlights: Getting to rescue our baby squirrel, having the largest pyramid all to ourselves in a quick rain storm and watching the sun come out in spectacular light, our delightful authentic picnic lunch, stoping at a roadside fruit seller for a tasty treat and a education in local produce! Overall it was a truly lovely day!

Andrea was an incredible host. Friendly, knowledgeable and passionate. The day was absolutely spectacular. We learned about Mayan history and observed beautiful ruins in nature. After, we were treated by an incredible home made, healthy meal. We completed the day by exploring the incredible turquoise waters by boat and by lazy river. We say animals and nature unlike anywhere else in the area. I would HIGHLY recommend this tour! Or any other that she offers.

We had the most amazing day with Andrea!! It was packed with a lot of adventure and amazing surprises like drinking a “Mayan Redbull” at the Cobá Ruins and seeing animals and birds I had never seen before. Exploring the different ruins was incredible and Andrea had so much information and facts for us so we really left feeling educated and just super in awe of the beauty of Tulum. Swimming in the crystal clear lagoon after visiting all the ruins was definitely a spa-like experience and it was a extremely relaxing! Andrea also treated us to a picnic in the jungle with all homemade, fresh delicious tamales, salsas, juices, and fruits and snacks!! It was the best day ever with the best tour guide!! Will most DEFINITELY be back!
