What you'll do

First, I welcome my guests and make sure they have brought their own cookie containers. I ask them to use warm water and soap to wash their hands and lower arms. I then give them each a pair of plastic gloves to put on. Then all guests get a choice of aprons and help with selecting shapes and cutting cookies out of raw dough. While the cookies bake, I show them the table and their choices on what decorations to use. I have a few cookies already cooked and decorated as examples to help guide them. Any children who attend will be given extra care so they have a super time!

To accommodate people with ALLERGIES, I can use gluten-free, egg-free, and/or agave nectar ingredients if I am given advance notice of dietary needs.

I help guests pack up their own cookies in to take away and I pack those left over for the local fire departments (or the Children's Shelter in Spartanburg). Any guests wishing to accompany me to the firehouse is welcome to take their own transportation and follow me. This will take an additional 25 minutes of time. After sharing with our emergency workers or staff for the Spartanburg Children's Center, we say our goodbyes. I look forward to any AirBnB referrals they will send my way. The Spartanburg Children's Center only allows entrance in the lobby. If you have FOOD ALLERGIES, be sure to contact hostess well in advance.
Other things to note
My home is clean with gardens seen from kitchen windows. The restroom is just outside the kitchen easily accessible for folks who can use a small walker. Wheel chair accessible kitchen has one small step up.

Cooking, baking, and creating are an ongoing joy of mine! I want all my cookie makers to enjoy this time of sharing and being themselves. I have cookie shapes for all seasons of the year, not just at Christmas. We use nuts, dried fruit, canned icing, special glazes, chocolate chips and sugar sprinkles of all kinds and colors.
These cookies have been a favorite for over 25 years! The recipe was handed down to me by my older sister back in the 1980's. Free photos of your group during making and decorating will be sent to your phone for sharing with your friends and family, whatever the season.

Where you'll be

Guests will enjoy making their own cookies and taking a sample of their creations home with them. Most cookies will be donated to local fire departments (or local Children's Shelter)and guests are welcome to join me in delivering these to our special firefighters and emergency personnel (and/or the Children's Shelter in Spartanburg). What kid wouldn't like a trip to the firehouse to finish off the experience?
