What you'll do

Meet at The Roost Bed and Breakfast to run through preparation and safety briefing for the tour. Hop onto your bikes and follow Linda and Graeme on a heritage tour through the main township, stopping at Tamakae Reserve for a tale of how Waiuku came to be, before heading around the Estuary trails. Finish at the historic Kentish Hotel where you can purchase refreshments in New Zealand's oldest continuous licence pub. You will be picked up from The Kentish and in The Roost's courtesy shuttle, and returned to your vehicle at The Roost.
Other things to note
Very easy terrain, this is a fabulous tour for those keen to enjoy the scenery and history. Not for the advanced sprinter, we like to take a more leisurely pace and suits families well

Where you'll be

The guided cycle trail is Waiuku's best kept secret. Weaving around the town and estuary, some areas take you across country and connect to roads that only locals know :) The tour has been specifically designed to cover all the heritage buildings and include the history of the area as you travel. Approximately 8km long , it is taken at a leisurely pace with chance to stop for photos and discussion along the way.
