What you'll do
We'll meet at one of Glasgow's best micro-breweries (and voted Glasgow's no1 bar) before heading to Glasgow's oldest building (Glasgow Cathedral) and the nearby Necropolis, which is Glasgow's own version of the city of the dead.
Wandering towards Glasgow's first street (High Street) you'll hear about Glasgow's involvement with IRA fugitives, we'll see modern street art of Glasgow's patron saint (St Mungo) and hear about the background to Glasgow's mural trail.
Continuing on to Glasgow Green, with its fantastic space and beautiful and varied buildings designed to encourage the working men of Glasgow to culturally improve themselves. You will find out the meaning of "facing the monument" (not to be tried).
The river Clyde is next on the agenda and highlights some of Glasgow's old industries which led to Glasgow becoming the second city of the empire. There is also a fantastic array of victorian and modern bridges and buildings.
We'll finish in the centre of Glasgow and take in the fantastic buildings of Glasgow's George Square where Glasgow council now occupies one of the most majestic buildings the City Chambers.
Other things to note
The tour is a gentle pace and for groups of people booking together, we can be creative with using taxis instead of walking some of the stretches.

I have lived in Glasgow all my life and have always been interested in Glasgow's history, culture and architecture. As a former Glasgow lawyer, I have developed an in-depth knowledge of Glasgow, past and present and have a very different perpective of Glasgow's first street.
Since starting the tours I have become interested in Glasgow's real history, architecture and culture and look forward to sharing that and Glasgow's less known past with you.
