What you'll do

This wedding band making workshop is a private lesson taught by Heidi Lowe Gallery Jewelry Instructor to teach one couple how to make their own wedding bands.
includes materials. You must choose your materials at least one week prior to your workshop.

This class allows couples to pick the metal, profile and finish of their wedding bands and create them by hand. I will guide you in creating your rings using basic metalsmithing techniques such as sawing and texturing, through soldering and forming. Couples do not need prior metalsmithing experience or any materials or tools. You will leave my studio with professional and meaningful rings to add to your wedding story, and to be worn proudly for years to come.
Other things to note
Prior to the workshop, I have 4 questions you will need to answer that allow me to determine the metal to order for your unique rings.
I structure the workshop to be successful for everyone. You will leave with your rings - many couples want to wear them out the door!

Make, exhibit, teach are words with which I identify and that have shaped my life. With a BFA and MFA in jewelry and metals, I create jewelry by drawing on the history of metalsmithing and my intuition. I also love working with others to create meaningful pieces from scratch or their old jewelry; it is truly one of my favorite ways of making. After graduating, my gallery experience began with Leo Koenig Gallery, a contemporary art gallery in Chelsea where I was the assistant director. In 2006 I opened my own gallery, which exhibits art jewelry by 50 emerging and established artists from around the world. My gallery also functions as a teaching space, where I have taught private lessons and group workshops for more than ten years. For me, teaching is more than learning new skills, it is about connecting and inspiring on a personal level.
