What you'll do

We will make and eat the real Italian home made pasta (the best ingredients all organic!) in the real italian Sunday festa like atmosphere. Rendez vous at our home in Borgo Pio close to Angelo the baker who for the last 30 years has personally served daily bread to all the popes. Peaceful pedestrian roman neighbourhood a few steps away from the main entrance to the Vatican. Here you will be our most welcomed guests! We will start with an aperitif, typical apetizers, and talk about…pasta! The importance of right ingredients, some anecdotes on pasta (in history, traditions, anthropological curiosities, pasta in poetry, pasta in literature and cinema).Time to start making your own handmade pasta according to the true traditional method (no tools required). In parallel you will learn the two basic national versions of the most exquisite tomato sauces. After cooking it, it will be time to sit at the table and enjoy your perfect and delicious pasta in three different versions and three sauces, all accompanied by top quality organic wine from Tuscany, Sicily and Marche (one of the best Chianti Classico of Italy produced by my brother). The conclusion of the meal will be with home made cake icecream and coffee. You will leave possessing a new skill that will keep on giving you, your family and friends endless joy
Other things to note
we have a cat and a dog in the house

A passionate cook, lived in the beautiful italian country side with my own vegetable garden. I love passing on the rooted culture and pleasure of traditional pasta making. All ingredients are organic and top quality (the real secret to perfect pasta).I married an Italian artist and love to be surrounded by people making and enjoying the taste of unique and sublime home made Italian pasta in our wellcoming and comfortable home, 1 minute walk fronm st.Peter . I had a home restaurant for years. Cooking is a fun, happy and a contagious, curative, soul enrichening activity.

For those looking for a perfect night in Rome, look no further! Experiencing Kat and her cooking class is nothing less than magic. You immediately feel comfortable when you walk into Kats home; a home beautifully decorated with her husbands art, old violin parts, and much more. From learning the history of the pasta to physically making it, you get a well rounded and educational cooking class, with a lot of laughs! A never ending supply of souvenirs you can make when you are back home! An added bonus was drinking her brothers wine and tasting the many traditionally Italian snacks she prepared for us. Highly highly recommend this class!

I would highly recommend Pasta making with Kat. She is warm and charming putting everyone at ease while sharing her love of good pasta. The course is well structured and even if you have made pasta before there is much to learn, from correct flour right through to cooking. It seems we have been using the wrong flour and even cooking it wrongly by not using enough salt. The proof was in the eating! Kat served 4 different sauces with the pasta we had made under her guidance. All were suoerb. We came away having learned lots and having enjoyed a really lovely evening with a super special lady. When next in Rome we will do the course again as it was enormous fun. 5 stars!

This was easily the best experience that we have had in Rome. Kat is warm and charming and a wonderful host. She is the kind of person that you would like to have as a friend. She taught us hands on to make two different kinds of pasta which we then had for dinner with 3 different sauces. My husband and grand daughter were with me and we all agreed that this was a wonderful experience. I highly recommend.

Kat’s pasta class is so fun and interactive! She makes the process so easy and is there to help with every step of the way. No prior pasta making or cooking experience required! The small group size means you can get individual help. It was very special to be welcomed into her home and to get to eat a family style meal. I’m amazed how easy and affordable it is to make homemade pasta, and I will definitely try it back home!
