What you'll do

Upstate SC has thousands of backwoods areas and trails. Many wonderful hikes can be found by visitors coming into the area and doing a simple internet search. What they won't find are obscure backwoods areas where few local people find, let alone visitors coming in for a few days.
I am a member of several upstate outdoor groups and clubs and I'm continually finding new places and exploring new ways to get to old favorites. These areas are relatively untouched. I know the routes, trailheads and what we'll see when we get there. I share historical information and can talk about what we find out there. I will find the perfect location to make your adventure unforgettable.
Example:
We'll hit the trail up through the woods where we routinely see wild ginger, and rare ladyslippers in season and fields of ferns. We'll continue over a bridge up a trail past rambling Upper Wattaco Creek passing a picturesque waterfall. We'll meet up with a forest road to wander 1/2 mile further to an amazing rockface overlooking downtown Greenville and Paris Mt. On return trip we'll have an option of circling a lake to see a rare patch of Pitcher Plants.
Other things to note
I do carry a basic first aid kit (Benadryl, bandaids, Neosporin, etc) but please bring any necessities you require. I do track our treks and can provide this to you post-hike.

Upstate SC and Western NC has amazing mountain trails, waterfalls, and viewpoints you can only get to by hiking. I have spent 7 years discovering the area, and much of the year I hike 3 times a week. Finding the right experience for my group and their abilities is what I do best. There is a perfect trail for everyone. I have GPS saved treks from over 300 routes over the last couple of years so have the elevations, mileage, and times and views a click away. I provide maps, history and what to expect. And love to share...

This was an amazing adventure. Elizabeth was so knowledgeable about the trail, the local plant life and wildlife. One of the spots we visited offered a great view of Paris Mountain and downtown Greenville from a distance. Another was a calm, relaxing beautiful view of a lake and a mini waterfall, and sounds of some chatty frogs nearby. I enjoyed getting to know Elizabeth and her association with local Greenville activity groups. I've been contemplating relocating to Greenville, and if I end up doing so, joining her hiking group is one of the first things I'll do! I highly recommend signing up for this experience for anyone that enjoys hiking, getting closer to nature or wanting to talk with/get to know a genuinely kind, pleasant soul!

I enjoyed every minute of this fun experience! Elizabeth was very pleasant, enthusiastic, and easy-going. Her superb knowledge of the area took us to a little-known trail leading to the lush, beautiful headwaters area above Twin Falls. We were blessed with a fantastic warm and sunny day. The foliage along the enchanted mountain trail still had patches of brilliant colors, and we literally had the whole trail to ourselves! We also visited the lower part of Twin Falls by driving to the parking lot on Waterfalls Road, and hiked the easy 0.25 mile to the viewing platform. There had been so much rain the previous week, the magnificence of these waterfalls were beyond awesome!!! After our lunch at Twin Falls, Elizabeth took us to the top of Sassafras Mountain, the highest point in SC, where there were some fantastic panoramic views! What was so special about our guide was her passion for Nature, and the natural history of the places that we came across. She would point out the wildflowers, plants, fungi, and little creatures along the trails, and as we drove through the winding mountain roads in one of the most beautiful places on this planet. I highly recommend all with different levels of hiking experience to book a memorable adventure with Elizabeth!
