What you'll do

I will take you on a journey through the history and contributions of the Muslim people in Central London. Starting from Parliament Square, you'll hear the untold stories as we make our way on a wiggly, windy route in the heart of the city. We'll explore a secret location where Arabic was taught in the 1600s and see a plaque with the Hijri—the Islamic calendar—date on it. I'll reveal how a police officer stole an idea from a Muslim to take worldwide credit and we'll discuss the first Muslim in Parliament, who happens to be a convert to Islam. You'll also learn about William Shakespeare's adopted Muslim, Trafalgar Square's Muslim connections, and the paintings being brought to life at the National Portrait Gallery.
Other things to note
You may wish to bring a notebook and pen to jot down the numerous fantastic points of information.

I'm one of Britain's first professionally qualified Muslim tour guides and I love the Muslim heritage here. My experiences are record breaking due to my in-depth knowledge, use of visual aids, and the amazing Fez hat on top of my head. Previous clients included BBC, Tate Britain, PWC, Deloitte, The first London Borough of Culture Waltham Forest, Jorvik Viking Festival, London Boroughs of Camden & Tower Hamlets, City of London Police, Leytostone Film Festival, Univeristy of Cambridge and more!

Where you'll be

No need to travel to Turkey to see an Ottoman cannon when you can see one with an Arabic inscription tucked away right here in London. It's a bit of history that can be easily missed, despite having the Royal soldiers performing nearby or tourists watching a parade.
