What you'll do
Hike to an incredible Vegas viewpoint that even most locals don't know about! Our destination has a view of the ENTIRE Vegas skyline, from Mandalay Bay to Downtown.
**Great for groups! Families! Team building!**
We'll meet at Terrazza Park in the exclusive community of Lake Las Vegas, perched above the Las Vegas Wash. There are restrooms and drinking fountains at the trailhead.
Our hike begins alongside the wash, which features year-round flowing water, ponds, weirs, and lush vegetation that is unique in Vegas's desert landscape. After a half-mile, we'll turn off the main trail and follow a rocky trail up a steep hillside. This section will test your lungs and your legs, but don't worry, the distance is short and we'll take our time.
Once our path crests the ridgeline, we'll be rewarded with panoramic views of the entire Las Vegas valley! Bring your camera!
We will also be joined by my adorable puppy, Annie! She is a bundle of joy and she LOVES to hike! She can't wait to meet you!
The hike is about a mile each way, and we'll gain approximately 500 feet of elevation overall. I will hike slowly (about 1.5 miles per hour) so you have time to enjoy the scenery as you hike.
I will provide headlamps and/or flashlights for everyone, and will bring surplus water.
**Private groups available. Custom start times by request, prior to booking.**

I have been hiking and guiding in Southern Nevada for more than 30 years. Over that time, I have found countless hidden gems, unknown to most hikers, where you can experience the natural side of Southern Nevada without the bustling crowds. I am also an experienced naturalist, with substantial knowledge of local flora, which I'll share along the way. Join me on a hike that I have hand-selected not only for its beauty, but also for its seclusion. I will take you on trails that even most locals don't know about, to destinations that have to be seen to be believed.

Where you'll be
The Las Vegas Wash is where all the water from the Las Vegas Valley returns to Lake Mead. This year-round water source provides a surprisingly lush oasis in the desert.
The ridge between Lake Las Vegas and the Vegas Valley is dramatic and rugged. It provides a bird's eye view of the entire valley, with unmatched vistas of the Vegas skyline.

This was a great and one and only experience. I am normally not giving a high compliment to anything but this really was something special.
It is a mild hike that doesn't really require intense exertion. Along the way, Alan gave us the unique stories about the animals, insects, plants, or etc. around. We also shared many life stories.
It was raining and dark, but it was very peaceful being away from the noises except the calm raining and waterwash sounds.
My boyfriend really loved this trip that I planned and he had a great talk with Alan, as well.

Great time! Easy hike for the elevation that is covered. Alan had so much great info about the terrain and plant life that we would have never thought to look for. Everything we were looking for. Was great with just my wife and I and I could see it would be equally as good with a group of 5-10 people as well
