I'm Cris, ex-professional triathlete, 4th place at World Champions in 2010, 4 years member of Italy’s Mountaineers Association and assistant of the mountain rescue team. Since 2011 we spend every weekend doing all sort of sports around Terminillo and exploring all surrounding historic towns. I'm passionate about showing others this wonderful area. If it is an enjoyable day out ticking summits or strolling through the villages then I'm your man. I’ve witnessed alone someone with epilepsy having a seizure at 1800m high on a snowshoeing day, I know the steps to follow. CPR course.

Where you'll be

We'll be at 95km away from the crowded and noisy capital, visiting two hidden gems of the area. From my favourite bar restaurant Sebastiano's shelter at 1820m high, we'll hike towards the top Vetta del Terminillo at 2216m. After, we'll eat in my fav local restaurant. Afterwards we'll drive to Labro, to meet a descendant of the royal Nobili's family who will possibly give us a tour of the castle. A hidden fountain from 1641

This personalised trip was AMAZING! Cris was so thoughtful that he arranged a call beforehand to ensure that I have the full experience in Italy within a short amount of time that I had. Within 1 day, I did an advanced hiking to a beautiful top view of the mountain and I finished it with a biking tour during sunset to a beautiful lake and back to my lovely accommodation recommended by Cris. The dinner suggested by Cris was very local, affordable and delicious! He knows the area in and out and he tailors the experience according to your fitness level and preference. You will never regret booking this experience as Cris offers you more than that! P/s: I could not make it to the airport on time with the train to catch my flight. Cris personally arranged the transportation to ensure that I could get back home. Cris is your man!

First of all- if you still haven’t booked a date with those guys just press the button NOW!!!!! ,I had such amazing time. Those guys can costume you the best time ,they are flexible and considering, trustworthy (which is very important when you do extreme sports...) and you can tell that they are very experienced.just say yes and go with ever they suggest because they really know what they doing ... the mountains of Italy made me to fall in love with hiking (which I will totally do with them again). They know amazing spots of nature and FOOD that I must say -is the best that I’ve tasted in many places and years as a traveler and a chef (; .I had so much fun . Surely be back again for more with the people I love for them to experience this area . I can’t say thanks enough... Will be seeing you guys soon.

Wow... what a great day! Even though the wet weather didn't cooperate we made the best of it and ended up having a great adventure. We started our day with a lovely ride through the Italian countryside to get some coffee at a small village farmers market. Then we drove up to the mountain top (Terminillo the "Mountain of Rome") to do a little hiking/trekking. Unfortunately we didn't get to see much because it started to snow and couldn't see but a few meters as it started to snow really hard. Now I am from South Florida (Miami) so I do not get to experience this kind of weather. Even though most people would be bummed out by the weather... I was loving it! Then we drove down the mountain with breathtaking views of the fall colors and headed off to Marmore Falls because we could not do much Trekking. What a beautiful place Marmore Falls and the little town of Terni. Make sure you eat your Wheaties and bring water and some snacks because you will need the energy to be climbing up and down the steps that lead from the top of the falls then down to the bottom of the falls for a breathtaking views. Oh... you will get wet too so make sure you are dressed appropriately for the weather conditions and wear good shoes as it will be wet and slippery. Normally we wouldn't go to the falls but because of the bad conditions on top of the mountain Chris suggested this would be a great alternative. So just in case you encounter bad weather and not able to do Trekking, be prepared for some other great experience because Chris is flexible and was willing to alter the days plans to make sure we had a memorable day. After a great mid day afternoon hike to see the Falls we headed to a tiny little village in Labro. The little village and castle in the hills was like going back in time. What a beautiful place to just stroll and roam the castle. Then we finished our busy day back in Rieti for a nice dinner at a nice restaurant that Chris recommended called Trattoria La Palazzina and then a nice evening stroll through the town square. I had a wonderful day with Chris and like the fact that he brings people (tourist) like me to the small towns and villages outside of Rome. This not only brings much needed business to these small towns but people like me visiting Italy gets to see a authentic part of Italy that most people don't take the time to explore. The best part... I didn't see one single tourist that day which was well worth the cost of the experience. When I come back I definitely will plan another day with Chris as this was my favorite day trip during my week stay in Rome.

Easily the best thing I did in Italy. I loved the mountains, the castle and the nearby area, it was beautiful with almost no tourists around. The experience also felt very authentic as I got to meet and talk abit to people who lived in the area. Cris was very personable and easy to talk to. It was my first time trekking and he was very patient to let me go at my own pace and gave me very useful tips. He would regularly make sure that i was doing ok so it all felt very safe. He also went out of his way to suggest a great dinner spot and areas to visit around Reiti which is a charming little town. Highly recommend this experience for you if you are looking for something off-the-beat to do away from the hustle and bustle of Rome!

The trekking was so much fun and covered different terrain. The view from the top is absolutely gorgeous. Moni & Cris were great hosts and guides and personalized the trip to include a dip at a nearby lake at the end.
