What you'll do
The class is about 1 hour per person so if you are two people your class appointment will be 2 hours at least, everyone takes turns because you learn so much watching the process . You must be confirmed and verified with Airbnb 24 hours before your class starts to be on the list of Students for that day.
We start with introductions and If the class has never done this before we begin with the beginner bead styles which are beautiful and easiest, everyone gets the safety glasses for glass working which filters out the bright light. I give a demonstration then after everyone has chosen their colors the student sits down and I show the best way to hold the steel rod (mandrel) coated with clay and the best section of the fire to melt glass and the student begins. Students take turns making beads. While one student is at the torch melting glass the other Student is watching. Some students need to take a break anyway and everyone learns from watching the process. I am stationed next to who is at the torch, closely directing and assisting if needed. I prefer small classes of no more than 3 students. https://youtu.be/o8MpIHu4ewk
Other things to note
The Studio is in the Country side of the Hocking Hills and GPS is very good
at getting people here.

I loved making glass beads with Deborah. It was something I would never have chosen to do but my husband purchased it as a gift for me. I am so glad he did. I had a wonderful time creating beads and learning a new skill. Deborah is a great teacher and made everyone feel accomplished and welcome.

I booked this for my girlfriend who had mentioned she wanted to do glassmaking stuff. We happened to be staying in the area and I saw this experience. the location is very secluded, but Deborah provided great directions. We were there for several hours and Deborah was adamant about being safe working with the molten glass and flame and proper protections. Beyond that she provided a wealth of information on what and why and how we were to make the glass beads. Also color recommendations and how colors look when hot vs. cooling and so many other interesting facets of knowledge. She has a lot of experience and knows her craft and love of the art very well. 4 hours went by like nothing as it was interesting talking and learning.
