What you'll do

Are you looking for an exciting experience, off the beaten path and away from the crowds? This is what's right for you. This magical hike with epic views is an experience that will last in your memories forever. We will hike in the enchanted landscape of Western North Carolina and get some incredible Instagram worthy pictures of the Blue Ridge Mountains. The hike will be between 3-5 miles depending on weather and the group. The Blue Ridge Mountains are some of the oldest in the world! We will stop at the top, have a snack and a beverage of your choice, take some really wonderful photos and then back down the mountain. [If you book as a "single" and the group ends up as "ONE/just you" we will do the shorter hike - if you are only one there may be a chance of cancellation] Weather can have a impact based on trail availability and access so please understand at this time of year things [weather] can change quickly] The parkway is often closed at this time of year so lots of our access to views can be limited.

If the date you are looking for is not on the calendar, send me a message. I will help you find a solution.
Other things to note
I will do everything to create a hike that fits the needs and skill level of everyone in your party so please just let me know how I can answer your questions and concerns.

I am an experienced licensed hiking guide in Asheville, North Carolina and have been hiking, guiding and living in this incredible area for over 12 years. I run a guiding company, NCLine Adventures here in town and love sharing the beauty of Western North Carolina with you! Having traveled all over the world, including backpacking in Patagonia and a 45 day road trip out West, I believe this to be one of the most beautiful places on earth.

Where you'll be

We are going to be on a mountain top of one of the most beautiful mountain regions in the US. The hike will be 3 miles round trip where you will get 360* views, most likely this will be in the Balsam Mountain Range. However, we could do a slightly different version of this run, depending on the weather and ability of the group .From there we will stop at one of my favorite local breweries.

Greg took our family out today - absolutely more than I hoped for. He adjusted well to our group level, shared great conversation + information about the area (my wife and I learned quite a bit). This is an absolute must if visiting the area. Calling this a "guided hike" does not capture the awesome experience.

I highly highly recommend this experience. I am a solo traveller and was lucky enough to be the only person in Greg's hiking airbnb experience. He was super attentive, personable, and made me feel really comfortable. He also suggested other trails and nearby restaurants to try!!!

This was our second time we did a hike with Greg. We loved our second hike much as our first! Greg has wealth of knowledge about the area. He took us on hikes that are off the beaten path with no crowds. We can’t wait to meet up with him the next time we are back in Asheville area! Bonus, we all made a cool, new friend.

What started out as a very chilly morning hike turned into an extraordinary experience. Greg has so much knowledge about the mountains and the area. He shared and listened. His knowledge allowed us to hike a beautiful path and have it all to ourselves. Greg came prepared for any "what ifs" like the parkway being closed and adjusted to make our experience one we will always remember. It was also great to have him taking pictures along the way so I didn't have to be the one taking them for a change.
