What you'll do

Together we will discover one of the most spectacular cities in the world and unravel is incredible story. Lisbon, capital of the old Portuguese Empire, with the Tagus River at its feet.

We will start at Carmo Square where the Revolution of April 25, 1974 brought freedom to Portugal after 41 years of long dictatorship. There you will know the most important part of the revolution story, which is told in the book that I wrote.

After visiting Chiado neighborhood and the favorite café of the Portuguese poetry genius, Fernando Pessoa, we proceed to the magnificent Comércio Square. There, during the 16th and 17th centuries, ships loaded with spices, gold and silk, arriving from all continents, made Portugal one of the most powerful countries in the world.

At the heart of Lisbon, called Baixa Pombalina, we will visit the most interesting monuments of this extraordinary historical and architectural complex, built after the devastating earthquake of 1755.

On the way to the typical Alfama neighborhood we will discover a city occupied by different civilizations, from the Romans to their conquest by Christian knights, in more than 15 centuries of history.

Our travel back in time ends with tasting the jewel of Portuguese traditional pastry, the famous custard: “pastel de nata”.

For a safe experience, we will fallow all official
recommendations to avoid contamination with SARS-CoV-2.

For 16 years my greatest passion was journalism. The daily life in three Portuguese newspapers and a television allowed me to observe reality from a privileged stage and help to build a better world.

My first book was published In 2018, the biography "António Ramalho Eanes", inspired by the Portuguese Revolution of April 25, 1974 and in the admirable life story of the first President of the Republic elected after the long dictatorship.

In 2017 I moved to France where I studied tourism in the beautiful city of Angers, in the Loire Valley. A year later I returned to Portugal to launch my own project as a tour guide: "Your Guide in Portugal".

These days it's very hard for me to find anything more fascinating than sharing with you the tremendous beauty and the amazing history of Lisbon!

Such a pleasure to take part in Nelson’s tour!!! This tour is like a Short novel, like chapter 1+2+3, and finally the conclusion of overview. Through Nelson’s amazing knowledge I definitely have approached Portugal a bit more but not just the city itself. Thanks so much!

Nelson is very knowledgeable. I learned much about Portuguese history, famous poets, and the significance of many of Lisbon’s beautiful places. We were even lucky enough to catch an authentic Fado show in Alfama! I recommend this tour!
