I will start with saying it would be criminal if you don't do this and you have the opportunity to. It's almost too much to put into words how magical this was. You experience so much, see so much, learn so much and eat so much and all of it while feeling you are family. Having come from Croatian immigrants on one side of my family I finally connected with the foods that defined us. This time I learned the source of where it came from and, more importantly, the family that made it. Everything is harvested and made at the family farm with family making it. I could not begin to describe the level of quality in everything. You get to FEAST on every food, spirit and family story that you won't want to leave. I don't think I will ever have a more amazing meal or experience ever again. Makes you realize how city and modern life disconnects you from REAL food and the personal connections that make it. Leaving felt like saying good bye to family. Amazing.

We booked this experience based on reviews we had seen and we were not disappointed. Vibor, Ante and his lovely Mum made us feel as part of the family, we were sad to leave at the end of the day. It was a fantastic way to end our 5 week European Vacation with lots of delicious food - when they say come hungry - that is so true!! Everything about the day from the oysters and the huge breakfast, to the tour around the village, the old family home and the boat ride on the lake was amazing AND then there was lunch...super delicious, we wanted to keep eating but there was no more room. Ante's Mum packed us a "snack" to take home which was greatly appreciated because as we ate it, we reminisced about the absolutely fantastic day that we had we our new friends. A must do if you are in Croatia

We got Antes co-worker and dear friend Vibor for the whole day. He is a hilarious, insightsful and a caring person with close to laugh, which made me, my boyfriend and another lovely couple, feel very welcome and entertained. Many have written about the cost of this trip, and it's true that you get a lot to make the moneys worth. Pick up at accomandation, fresh oysters, tour on the road, all you can eat (and drink!!) breakfast, lunch and cake. With a realxing boat ride on river and tour of farm and surroundings. This really is a genuine experience and we are so glad that we did it. We're gonna enjoy the doggiebag today with bread, prociutto and cheese. Yum!

If you are interested in getting a behind the scenes look at the day and life of a family in Herzegovina this is the trip for you. Ante picks you up at Pile gate in Dubrovnik and takes you on the long journey to his family home where you taste a variety of delicious homemade treats. His family lives in three attached townhomes on a property across from their farm land with a separate fireplace room where the culinary experience takes place. Along the way you stop to have oysters right out of Ston Bay. Which was cool to see a family run oyster farm. But it was a super quick stop (like 15-20 minutes). We asked him (in advance) to take us to Mostar and he happily agreed but to be honest I think it was too much driving for one day. Mostar (another 45 minutes from his family home) was an interesting place but you really don’t get much time there and Ante didn’t want us to miss out on any of the other planned experiences and it just made for a really long day. Not Ante’s fault. He was happy to do whatever we asked. I just wouldn’t suggest trying to cram it all into one day. Ante has a lot of passion for his country and showing people his corner of the world. It was definitely an interesting and tasty day. The description clearly states how long it takes to get to his property, and we asked to go to Mostar, but in my opinion it wasn’t worth all the time in the car. In retrospect I wish I would have planned an experience closer to Dubrovnik. But I still recommend Ante and the tour for those interested in unique culinary experience that don’t mind the journey.

Wow. I’ve been to about 30 countries and to be honest, coming to Ante’s farmhouse was one of the most special moments my husband and I have had traveling. Simple, delicious food grown from his farm and the surrounding village. You will never be able to find this anywhere. Ante’s mom was so sweet and even packed us a to go bag! Ante even took us to see Mostar so I didn’t have to make a second trip. I can write a novel about this experience. If come back to this region it would be specifically to stay the night at Ante’s farmhouse. Which is a new experience he is offering now, I wish I had known about it beforehand. You might think this is an expensive experience but it’s not, what you get from it is priceless and worth every penny. Just book and come hungry.

Wonderful day with Ante! Truly a unique experience. Ante was professional, knowledgeable, gracious and creative. He provided a great introduction to village life for his family and community. The highlight of the experience is the wonderful meal - and taste of local foods grown or produced by his family. He seemed to have a little surprise around every corner . . . I won't spoil it for you! Highly recommend a day with Ante.
