Sailing on Nahuel Huapi Lake

San Carlos de Bariloche, Argentina

Experience hosted by Pablo Y Lorna

3 hours
Up to 8 people
Hosted in Spanish, English, Portuguese

What you'll do

We meet at the pier, get on the boat, get ready and go sailing to our first beach. We will begin the navigation through the crystalline waters of the Campanile Arm to the bay of Puerto Bueno, a solitary place where we will have the privilege of an amazing landscape. Through the trip, in which we will invite you to steer the ship, we will discover beaches and bays that very few know. We will take advantage of these stops to share an infusion and enjoy together the landscape and sounds of nature. Without hurry, we will return to port again. The approximate duration is 3 hours
Other things to note
I recommend contacting me on the day of arrival, to schedule the departure

I have been living in Bariloche since 1983, 36 years ago, and from the beginning I was a guide to almost all adventure tourism activities, such as mountain biking, kayaking, horseback riding and rafting. But one of the most beautiful experiences is undoubtedly sailing through the immense Nahuel Huapi lake. So for 17 years I sail during winter and summer, taking visitors to the best places, in the heart of the National Park, on a 27 feet sail boat. A privilege that I enjoy sharing a lot.

We will sail about 3 hours by the Nahuel Huapi lake, knowing the best bays and beaches, where you can only get there by water.

This was such a great, relaxing, and beautiful tour...the scenery was second to none. Our hosts were so friendly and relaxed, made good conversation, and were knowledgeable about the area, having lived there for over 37 years. I’m no expert, but they appeared to be very knowledgeable/expert navigators, and were kind and patient with our rambunctious children:) I recommend you explore renting a site at the campground they launch from, Camping Petunia, and spend the day at the fine sand beach with crystal clear waters if you have children. It’s very affordable - each site can be rented daily and comes with a grill you can prepare lunch on before or after you take the sailing trip. Very chill and lovely!!!

(Tip to travel from city to the place at bottom of review) A great tour to enjoy the views of the area, start off in a nice beach that seems quiet and secluded, so if you're early you can enjoy some wonderful views or sunbathe for a bit, then begin by boardng the boat and beginning your journey with your host full of knowledge of the area and even some personal stories. Soon you'll come to a point where you can relax without an engine and eventually have opportunity to enter enter water and swim, be warned though the water initially is cold, however the sun will warm you up on the continued journey. Food and drink is offered, little cakes, some drinks etc, some light things. So if you're looking for more bring a sandwich or two. You visit or see many of the islands surrounding bariloche city. End back up on the beach. For those travelling from the city you can use the 10 or 20 bus using suber, this will take roughly 20 minutes maybe 25, the stop you'll want to get off at is camp petunia, from that rough stop you'll want to walk up the road a bit more until you see the camp petunia sign, enter and continue down, then once passed the little bar part stick to the left side until you'll see a harbour. It confused us for a short while but we found it not too difficult but incase anyone is running late then you know more immediate directions. The road before is mainly one long road with a supermarket about 15 minutes walk back from the stop so if you want food buy some there, otherwise it doesnt have alot to offer so don't be two hours early like we were unless you intend in sunbathing on the small beach.
