What you'll do

Why don’t you visit Seki in Gifu Prefecture?
Seki City is rich in beautiful nature and cultural heritage. Seki sword making which has a long tradition of over seven hundred years has passed down skills and techniques from generation to generation.

After meeting at Seki station, we will visit Seki Zenkoji Temple it has a great panoramic view of Seki from the bell tower which you can ring.

Then we will go to eat grilled eel bowl, it sounds yucky and disgusting. But the charcoal grilled eel dipped in sweet source coating is amazing. You can enjoy crispy grilled surface with fluffy light eel inside.
If you feel like eating a light meal and/or soft drinks and deserts. A newly opened transitional Japanese cafe restaurant has just open on the Seki Zenkoji Temple grounds. Which is very convenient!

After lunch , we will go to the Seki Traditional Sword Smith Museum and watch a demonstration of sword making by sword smiths. The museum shows Seki’s sword making history and the manufacturing process of Japanese swords.

Where you'll be

There is a very scary pitch black underground maze, a sacred tunnnel, under the main hall in Seki Zenkoji temple. It’s pitch black but there is guiding handrail. There is a lucky padlock in the middle of the tunnnel, directly under the main Buddha. It is believed that you will go to heaven after this life, by touching the padlock. But let’s enjoy this lifetime!
