Rotorua born and bred, Ron is enthusiastic about living in this unique environment that has attracted tourists for nearly 200 years! He is widely travelled and has a natural affinity to appreciate and relate to all cultures.
Tour guiding has been a natural progression, evolving from providing Air BNB accommodation, reaching super host status! Interestingly, in Ron’s prior life, he was a Glassblower in Rotorua for 26 years, so has a strong appreciation for the arts and will point out significant public sculpture during the tour!

Ron is an amazing guide! We had a lovely time and found out about places that didn’t come up while we were googling the location! Ron made us feel very relaxed and his knowledge of the local community was amazing. I would very much recommend doing this tour at the start of your stay - Ron showed us so many places that we wish we had time to go back to and explore further!

This was beyond out expectations. The small group size was perfect and we were lucky enough to have his brother along. Together they made it even better. He was knowledgeable about the area since he is local. But he really did a good job of portraying the stories behind the art and areas we visited. My friends and I all agreed that we would do this tour again or even see if he's willing to be our tour guide at other areas in Rotarua.

We went for Ron’s tour instead of buying ticket of private geothermal park and we did not get disappointed. Ron gave us a good insight of the Maori culture, history of Rotorua and public arts here (with nice stories). The geothermal park is simply amazing (I mean, we get in touch with everything geothermal, except a geyser I guess). I asked him lots of questions on the way and the experience is very personalised. Highly recommended if you’re tired of commercialised tour.
