What you'll do

Visit Porta Palazzo, Europe’s biggest open market. Immerse yourself in the colours, the smells and the flavours of the lively local market, whose food section is dedicated to high-quality and locally-sourced gastronomic products.
Join our family and spend the classic Turinese Saturday morning with us! The tour starts off with a coffee and pastries breakfast, we will then set off on our exploration with Vanessa, during which we will taste foods and buy the ingredients to prepare lunch with Luca, a professional chef. He will be guiding you in a cooking class, using the seasonal foods purchased to prepare a complete Piedmontese-Italian lunch of seasonal inspiration. Straight from the market to the plate, which we will taste together in Luca’s special home restaurant, we will eat all together like every Italian family.
All this is two steps away from the city’s main touristic attractions.
Here are some examples of the dishes we could cook:
- roasted peppers with bagna caouda
- stuffed ravioli with butter and sage
- marinated anchovies with parsley sauce
- goat cheese covered with bacon , grilled with honey and wallnuts
- roast beef with gorgonzola cheese cream
...and much more.

It was one of the greatest experience i‘ve ever done. If you find yourself once in Turin you should not miss it. Luca is a very great person who let you see behind the scenes of a chef. Before going to Europe’s biggest market ( yes, it’s amazing!!), we had a Café at a bar close to the market. And really, it felt like meeting a friend who decided to cook something nice for lunch. And then transforming all the nice ingredients guided by Chef Luca to a fantastic meal was just awesome. the whole experience was rounded off with fantastic wine and great conversations.

If you want to do something different, this is for you. Anyone can teach you how to make pasta. Luca shared Torino by showing us how to make a special kind of food only made and eaten by real locals.

Wow, what a day! Luca is a gentleman of many talents and ventures but his culinary skills are superb. If you are interested in the culinary arts and business, beyond learning how to cook with a real chef who can teach you real techniques, Luca is certainly the man to meet. Leading up to the class, Luca was very communicative and reached out to inquire about personal interests. On the morning of, we met inside of his bistro for a cup of coffee before heading to Europe's largest markets (wow!) to pick up fresh vegetables and proteins for our class. For this class, we focused on making pasta but Luca can tailor the class to whatever you'd like to learn. I learned how to correct everything that I had done wrong in my past with pasta (how to let the dough rest, get that perfect rustic texture for the sauce to cling to, cook to al dente, and more). Throughout, we had great wine and great conversations. I look forward to coming back to Turin and doing more experiences with him and his partner Martina (who leads wine tasting experiences as well!).

Should you be fortunate enough to find yourself in Turin, you could not find a better introduction to Piedmont’s epicurean soul than to delve into the city’s extraordinary fresh market with Vanessa, and then be guided by Chef Luca in transforming its seasonal bounty into a exceptional meal. My husband and I would highly recommend this experience for both those who love to cook and those who love to eat. A unique and wonderful opportunity, not to be missed!
