Greetings from another world traveller! I’m a personable licensed tour guide in Kanazawa. I specialize in walking tours, providing cultural insight and explaining what the locals are doing.

Japan is a unique Asian country, developed in the modern sense yet has maintained its cultural heritage. Kanazawa is the perfect size for sightseeing. Join this tour if you’re interested in the old and the new that this city offers. Appropriate for all age groups, mobility issues are OK too as we can take taxis at a very affordable price anywhere in Kanazawa.

We really enjoyed this tour. We were a bit overwhelmed by food here and hadn't realised about the food halls. Hanayo explained everything and was delightful.

The experience with Hanayo was amazing! :) Such a simple but excellent idea, to explore a typical department food store. Hanayo was super friendly and I felt welcomed from the first to the last second and the communication in English was excellent. Was really interesting to learn about Japanese food & culture within such a short time. Definitely recommend it to anybody, who wants to know more about the food culture in Japan.

We had a great experience with Hanayo, we learnt so much about the local specialty foods and she was very friendly and also patient with our children. It was wonderful to learn about the different foods on offer, especially those we may not have been confident trying by ourselves. She gave us a very insightful, informative and friendly tour and we would recommend this experience to all travelers.

Hanayo was super nice and took us around the department store basement. It was raining so it was nice to find something to do inside. She pointed out lots of Japanese delicacies that you see throughout Japan but may not have known what they were. She was helpful in providing recommendations on places to eat in Kanazawa after the tour. It’s not a must do, but if you’re looking for something to do for a couple hours it’s worth your time and very reasonably priced.

Hanayo gave us a great introduction to Japanese food, the methods of preparation, and specifically the food of Kanazawa. We loved tasting all the different foods and learning about the various fermentation processes. The information package she provided at the end is full of great information as well. Absolutely recommend!
