Guided Fishing in Tampa Bay

Tampa, United States

Experience hosted by Nathaniel

4 hours
Includes drinks, transportation, equipment
Up to 4 people
Hosted in English

What you'll do

We'll jump on the boat at dawn and watch the beautiful sunrise over South Tampa. I'll take you to the first of several fishing spots, which will vary based on the time of year, weather, and where I've found the fish to be biting. You can cast out, kick back on the boat, and let the sub-tropical climate, miles of unspoiled mangrove estuaries and wetlands carry your troubles away. Or if you are a die hard angler we can run and gun in search of the catch of your life time. Either way you're welcome to bring drinks and snacks on the boat, and I'll have an ice chest ready to keep them cold. Tampa Bay is known for its Red Fish, Trout, Flounder, Snook, Tarpon, and a mix of off shore fish including Grouper, and Cobia. Half-day charters last four hours, and full days are eight.
Other things to note
I will provide bait, tackle, fishing licenses, and safety equipment.

*PLEASE NOTE: Gratuities are never expected but greatly appreciated. If the captain did a good job, made the trip enjoyable and you had a good time you might consider rewarding those efforts. 15%-20% is standard.

Where you'll be

Miles of unspoiled mangrove estuaries and wetlands make up the Tampa Bay area. It is an aquatic upland ecosystem supporting a diverse population of bird and animals. It’s also the spawning grounds for many species of fish found in Tampa Bay and in the Gulf of Mexico.

Capt Murf does an excellent job going above and beyond to help you enjoy your experience. He makes it an easy experience, bait your hook, cast your line under the mangrove, and tell you when to reel in. He did everything he could other than throw the fish (snook) into your lap. He also shares the area with other fisherman in a courteous manner.

He did really good on putting us on top of fish and was very patient with me when I was learning to catch a new species of fish I’ve never caught before. We had a lot of fun and caught some good fish

The trip with Captain Murphy (Nathan) was very fun and relaxing. We went out to the mangroves and saw a ton of birds, some dolphin, even a manatee, oh yeah, we caught a bunch of fish too!!! He kept the bait in the water and we fished pretty hard. He let me get as involved as I wanted, catching all the fish, baiting hooks, releasing fish, casting to and sometimes into the mangroves. Hooked snook, sea trout, snapper, Jack, catfish, and a ray. Slowed down a little toward the end of the trip and we fished an extra hour trying to land one last one. Excellent trip, highly recommend for anyone looking for a nature experience while getting in some fishing. Thanks Captain Murphy!!!
