What you'll do

We are honored to show you our beautiful city thru the walk into backstreets to discover inside perspectives and secrets that only locals can offer.

We visit local family businesses that produce and sell products in Hoi An. We’ll get to know how Vietnamese produce: organic bean sprouts, Cao Lau noodle in the oldest factory. We'll taste it like a local.

We’ll keep walking into the local trails to learn more about our family temple, market life, architectures and lifestyle – a favorite walk that shares everything and true stories stunning about this ancient city. You will learn how Japanese, Chinese, and Westerners have impacted life in Hoi An and its cuisine. The walk around outskirt city is about an hour, before we start our food taste adventures.
We’ll enjoy about 5-7 delicious local Vietnamese treats, Chinese and French infusion at a variety of stops. Let’s eat and taste with locals.

At the end, we'll cheer together in our favorite spot. Get a relaxing drink!

My husband and I had a wonderful afternoon out with Harry. We have both been to Hoi An several times, but never experienced what Harry showed us. He was very hospitable and knowledgeable, and made us feel like we were in good hands. We enjoyed learning all about the traditional techniques people use to make a living. And the food we sampled was absolutely delicious. The terrific tour culminated in a beautiful sunset view overlooking the rooftops of Hoi An - perfect!

We booked the tour with a group of 3 (the 4th couldn’t make it, but Harry was nice enough to refund his share) and another guy joined our tour for the day as well. So in total it was 4 to 1 host. Emily was our host and she was the sweetest! Very friendly, kind and made us all feel very comfortable and at home. We started off the journey with a noodle factory (6 generations), then went to a bean sprouts factory (we eat a lot of bean sprouts so it was really interesting to see how bean sprouts are harvested), then stopped at a family ancestral temple. Our favourite part was after - the food!!!! We tried so many dishes - black sesame soup, Cao Lau (made from noodles from the noodle factory we were at earlier), some rice flour pancake (forgot the Vietnamese name), BBQ pork banh mi, some tomato wantons and by the time we got to the dessert factory, we were SO stuffed that we had to take the desserts away! We ended up staying an extra hour later than the 3 hours as we the last stop was the rooftop of a restaurant, where we had a great aerial view of Hoi An, which was lovely 👍🏻 thanks so much Harry and Emily for sharing with us the hidden gems of Hoi An! Highly recommend the tour for people who want to know a little bit more about this beautiful lantern town :)

We are so very happy to have met Harry as our private tour guide for Hoi An. The tour was made even more meaningful when we met the Vietnamese people who are dedicated to practice ancient ways to create fresh Cao Lau noodles (Udon noodles made of rice instead of wheat), fresh mung bean sprouts, black sesame pudding and rice cakes. We ate delicious, unique food/treats from food stalls, street vendors who were warm and friendly. Upon our request Harry hooked us up with a tailor shop that promptly made 2 pairs of fantastic dress pants for my husband in 7 hours. I could write more details about our experience but really, it is the light, genuine, energetic and enthusiastic soul of Harry Vu that we will never forget.

My husband and I had a truly magical morning with Harry. He was not only knowledgeable, but so friendly and charismatic as well. He was clearly very much a part of his community and had great pride in sharing it with his guests. Be sure to go HUNGRY because the food is plentiful :)

Vietnam is famous for their friendly people and Harry is maybe one of their friendliest. He took us on a long tour of Hoi An telling us not only about food and ingredients but about the local culture and history (both new and old). He likes to quiz your knowledge and is generous with high fives for good answers! Make sure you don't eat ANYTHING beforehand as he brings you to many many food stalls and restaurants for a truly massive amount of food over the course of the tour. He also brought us to the homes of locals who make cao lau noodles, or deserts for an example where you watch them cool in their own homes and try their dishes right then and there. This are the type of experiences you can not have outside of a tour like this, Harry gives you the access and the context and has a blast doing it with you in the process. Very great!

We had Emily as our guide and she was absolutely lovely. She is a very genuine person who loves her home city and her guests. So many things she showed us on this tour were things that would have been hard to do on our own. Wonderful tour, would recommend 😎.
