What you'll do

In this jungle of ready-made tours, cheap souvenirs and mass tourism attractions, I'd like to introduce you to a much more complex and fascinating Barcelona, one that has been forged over more than 2000 years and is constantly evolving. From the remains of its early days as a minor Roman provincial town to the bustling international city it's become, I aim to focus not only on the stories and buildings of the rich and powerful but ordinary people too.
Starting next to Jaume I metro station, we'll walk through the streets of the old town, mainly the quarters of Sant Pere, Santa Caterina, el Pi, Catedral, Sants Just i Pastor and Rivera. These made up the heart of Barcelona until the end of the the 19th century and can tell us many stories. We'll also focus on their immense architectural diversity, full of beautiful details that are easily unnoticed, and we'll interrogate the different buildings to see what really remains of the city's past or what in fact is a 20th century medieval fantasy.

It is also very important to me to respect as much as possible the neighbors that continue to live in these areas, and consequently I only work with small groups of no more than 4 or 5 people. That also allows me to adapt as much as I can to your own interests and questions, and facilitates a conversation as well.

I'm a classical singer with a passion for history and architecture. I studied History of Art at University of Barcelona and Vocal Studies and Opera at Guildhall School in London. For years I've spent a huge part of my free time wandering around cities, discovering their past and present. I'm also an avid story teller and I absolutely love meeting new people from different places.

A lovely man who went out of his way to accommodate me as I was unable to go when planned. He is very passionate about history. Had pictures of how things used to look which was appreciated and a great singing voice. Definitely recommend

Un guia excel·lent! Vam fer una ruta per un itinerari molt interessant, diferent del que coneixia fins al moment i per espais poc concorreguts. Ha donat crèdit del seu coneixement sobre la ciutat i la seva història. Francament un 10. Sens dubte molt recomanable.
