What you'll do

Fishing in “The City of Water” and a visit to the 2,600 year-old venerable Kashima Shrine

This experience offers a unique opportunity to fish in one of the best angling spots in the Tokyo suburbs, and an amazing visit to the Kashima Shrine, the oldest and venerable shrine in the Kanto area. It is a day trip to the Ibaraki Prefecture, about two hours by highway bus from Tokyo station.

The coastal area in the southern part of Ibaraki Prefecture is known as “The City of Water”, surrounded by sea, lake, and river.

Depending on the weather and natural conditions, if sea fishing is not ideal, we will go for river fishing. The experience will take place at a safe location where beginners or families with children are welcome to participate (children participating in sea fishing should wear a life jacket). There are small shops and toilets available nearby.

You can enjoy the nature, culture, and local food all at once! Have an awesome day with this unique experience!

Meeting place/time:
8:00 at JR Tokyo Station; in front of Yaesu South Exit gate , On the way back, we will leave JR Kashima Jingu Station around 17:00 and head back to Tokyo Station by a highway bus.
Other things to note
The experience will be carried out under light rain. After arriving in Kashima, we’ll check the wind and rain conditions and decide whether to go for sea fishing or river fishing.
