Just like visiting local Kyoto friends, you will experience the joys of cooking in an intimate environment. During our cooking class, you will be immersed in the culture of Japanese food and learn about the importance of seasonal ingredients in traditional cooking.

We hope that our cooking class will not only be just a “one-day experience”, but a lasting memory for you from Japan. After the class, you will be able to confidently make authentic Japanese dishes and show off to your friends and family what you have learned.

You will be learning a traditional Japanese breakfast in the class. Spend your morning time to learn cooking and eat breakfast before you start discovering Kyoto ! This is a perfect class for those who want to use their morning time. You still have full day to enjoy Kyoto after the class.

Hi my name is Ai. My story with cooking has began when I discovered the recipes from my Grandmother, who passed away when I was a child. Her recipe was full of the secret of amazing Japanese tastes and I became absorbed in cooking from this precious encounter. In 2013, I moved to Paris and started a Japanese food catering business and taught Japanese cooking class to local French people. My clients included various embassies and galleries, Grand Maison of Fashion, and individual artists. With this experience, I moved back to Japan in 2018 to begin my Kyoto cooking studio

Would highly recommend to both foodies and non-foodies. Some of the best food we ate in Japan thanks to Ai’s excellent guidance and a chance to get that little bit closer to it’s culture.

Nice cooking class. Very usefull to get to know ingredients and recipies and learn how to make them yourself at home. Although we would have expected a bit more in quantity of food and recipies, we definitively enjoyed it and we are already putting into practice at home what we learned :D

Ai's cooking experience was wonderful and we recommend it if you're curious about Japanese cuisine, and eager to learn new recipes. I really appreciate that Ai adapted the recipe to my diet (no meat), and she was very flexible with our group needs. Ai is a great mentor, she was making sure that everyone was taking part in the cooking, and learning by doing it. During the cooking, Ai was also curious to know about us, our backgrounds, and we had a really nice time spending the morning as a group. I wish we could've stayed longer and keep cooking/chatting/and eating. I really liked that Ai provided the written recipes, so we took them home and can replicate them. The recipes are simple enough so anybody can cook them at home. The only challenge for us is about finding the ingredients, and adapting them to our taste. It's a great feeling to come back from Japan and not just having visited places, but also learned something new that I can implement into my daily life : cooking a Japanese meal like a local would do :-) If you really enjoy Japanese food and are eager to learn, this experience is just the beginning of a new cooking adventure.

Ai’s breakfast was first rate. Our meal had multiple, delicious dishes, which we made together. Since the group is 4 max, it’s totally hands on. Ai is a great teacher. I learned a lot. A great experience that ended with a tasty breakfast.

Merci Ai!
