What you'll do

We’re sharing a glimpse of life in a family -run organic farm with a vegetable garden, located near Todi. In a hidden amazing part of Umbria, the green heart of Italy, organic production is based on the careful cultivation. You will discover a beautiful landscape and taste unfogettable genuine flavors, from the soil on your hand. You will attend some rural works that alternate in the farm during seasons.
During this tour we will taste the farm products, all strictly organic: tasty bruschette (italian toasted bread) with organic vegetables and organic seasonal fruit, hand made organic jams such as jams made of chilli, saffron pears, strawberry pepper and mint, apricots and vanilla, wild blackberries, cherries, peaches... There is nothing that tastes better than fruit and vegetables from the garden. The most obvious result of a sustainable agricultural practice is to maintain biodiversity. On the farm in fact, there are many plants and flowers of the area. In addition to plants, during your visit is it possible to observe many species of birds, some rarely seen elsewhere. At sunset it is also possible to meet or hear more timid animals such as owls, tawny owls, hedgeh.

I run a company whose aim is to offer and share authentic and unique wine and food experience to our guests, an interaction with local people which allows to connect with places, food and communities they visit.

Highly recommend this experience!! Valerio & Silvia were incredibly welcoming! They shared insight & stories about their lovely organic farm, and we had the chance to walk all around, try produce straight from the earth and ask any questions that came to mind! And then we got to try all kinds of deliciously prepared foods from their farm! All in all, a super special day that we cherish and highly recommend! Thank you!!

I visited Umbria with my boyfriend and his parents and we decided at the last minute to book this experience, not knowing quite what to expect. After arriving at the property, Alvero, who runs the experience, his wife, Sylvia, and his daughter, Hillary, gave us a tour of their small organic farm/garden overlooking the countryside (with gorgeous views of Todi) and very knowledgeably explained how they grow their crops, as well as what crops and animals are indigenous to Umbria. The highlight of the tour, however, was the tasting component. My boyfriend’s family and I were really just expecting to have a few nibbles of bread, jam, and maybe a bit of produce based on the description, so we were pretty shocked when we were seated at a fully set table under a wisteria canopy and served a full meal of cheese, homemade jams (apricot, chili pepper, and caramelized fig), bread, tomatoes with basil and olive oil, two pasta dishes (one with herb pesto and the other with tomatoes, onions, and meat), a farro and bean dish, peaches, cookies with jam, homemade walnut liqueur, and two generous carafes of white wine. The food was absolutely gorgeous (you won’t find anything this fresh or lovingly prepared at a restaurant), and Alvero and his family were so personable and hospitable. This was definitely the highlight of our trip, and we can’t recommend this experience enough. If you decide to book this tour/tasting, don’t leave without buying a jam or two (and some pasta)! Everything is to die for, and you’ll leave knowing that you’re supporting locals who truly care for the land, rather than just the touristy food shops in the center of Perugia, Orvieto, etc.
