Where you'll be

After some basic instruction, enjoy a guided scenic paddle on Loch Oich and the Caledonian Canal which are part of the Great Glen Canoe Trail. If conditions allow, we will visit The Well of the Seven Heads & learn about one of the most gruesome episodes in Scottish clan history & the ruins of Invergarry Castle, the seat of the Chiefs of the Clan MacDonnell of Glengarry, a powerful branch of the Clan Donald.

A lovely relaxing kayak session out on the loch despite very windy, drizzly conditions. A slower pace than we’d have liked but we understand it was a one size fits all situation. We were very wet by the end but smiles all round. Thank you 😊

We had a beautiful adventure kayaking this afternoon. Jamie welcomed our group very friendly. He was very nice and offred a lift to the location. We had a very nice ride on Loch Oich, the day was beautifully sunny and Jamie was great in explaining all we were admiring around us. Lovely day and great experience! Jamie also adviced a very nice restaurant in Fort Augustus which was amazing as well. Strongly adviced for a nice adventure out!

This was my first time and the first with my 15 year old daughter. Really enjoyed it and has opened up this world for further adventures like this.

Ok so it was one of those perfect days for it...warm, sunny and a flat calm! Jamie led the trip with easy going banter and reassuring calm. Starting in the canal with time to find your paddle rhythm before setting out into Loch Oich and and easy paced trip in stages with rest and chatter amongst the group. The kayak was more comfortable than i thought and I’m encouraged I could go longer another time. Just the right amount of local geographical/nature info, cos really the day for me was about feeling safe out on the water, gentle exercise and chilling out. Jumping off the pontoon at the end was a great week but of fun and sent me off with a smile. Thanks Jamie, all the best with your course and I think you def deserve a beer :-)

Overall we had an amazing day! Jamie our instructor was very helpful and interacted with us all really well, he had local knowledge which was nice to learn a bit about our surroundings whilst out kayaking. Great group of people and would certainly recommend although in light of COVID some might feel that basic distancing and hygiene was not adhered to but this didn’t affect our experience at all, but for other who are more concerned it might do!
