What you'll do

Hike begins at Outeiro, better known as Oiteiro, a native forest (restinga and manguezal) near the Pontal de Maracaipe region. This is a natural refuge of major ecological importance, since it's serves as a shelter for diverse animal species to live, feed and rest in, such as some migratory species. While absorbing environmental knowledge we'll enjoy this place's natural beauty as well as getting to know a little bit about local communities and historical context during slavery. After the hike, we'll visit a centenary baobab tree, which gives us a wonderful view of Porto de Galinhas and from where we can enjoy an incredible sunset.

Hi! My name is Renan. I’m a Porto de Galinhas native. By being born here I had the chance to discover and experience the places that today I share with friends and visitors.
I’ve always been curious about nature, so I studied biology and worked with ecological trails to gain a better understanding on how to preserve our natural resources. I’m also a PADI Divemaster, which certifies me as a free diving guide. I can guide this experience in both English and Spanish, so everyone can feel welcome!

Where you'll be

We'll get to the hiking point by bike (preferably). On the way, we will cross fragments of forest and coconut trees, reaching the mangrove for a delicious river bath.

Muito boa a experiência de conhecer outros lugares de Porto. A trilha é um pouco pesada se você estiver sedentário hahah mas é só conversar com Renan que tudo se ajusta. Passamos por locais que eu nem imaginava que existiam e que são tão lindos! E Renan é um cara massa demais, ficamos muito felizes com essa troca.
