We will visit an artisanal mezcal factory to observe and know the whole process of elaboration, step by step.
We will also share with you the different types of agave that exist, how they reproduce and the care they need. We will talk about the different categories and classes of mezcal.
You can try a wide variety of different mezcal and learn to taste them. (The tasting is unlimited).
Then we will move to our majestic agave field with thousands of plants, where you can tour and admire this beautiful place; And of course take amazing pictures! We will do a couple of activities to show all the time and work behind this spirit drink.
Finally, we will visit an authentic traditional Oaxacan restaurant, where you can enjoy a special dish with typical food of the region. There we will make a final tasting to share all the secrets of the liquid culture of Mexico.
In the end, we will return to the city to return to the same meeting point.

My name is Ricardo, originally from the magical town of Mitla! I am an agave producer and founder of the artisan mezcal brand "Inquebrantable". Lover of mezcal and all the culture and tradition that surrounds it. From the birth and planting of the agave, to the jima and preparation of our spiritual drink. For several years I have worked in the culture of mezcal, surrounded by agaves and touring different production factories, always looking for the best flavors, to now share with you one of the best mezcal tastings in Oaxaca, as well as a unique tour between agave fields.

Me gustaría que el proceso de hacer mezcal quitara al caballo, hay manera de sustituir esa potencia de una forma más sustentable. El caballo pasa horas caminando en círculos, eso no es calidad de vida para el animal. Por lo demás, buen proyecto.

I really don't know where to begin. We booked this tour with the same expectations we have had with all the other tours since we have been in Mexico. Holy Cow were we surprised!! From the moment that Israel picked us up in Oaxaca to the time he brought us back we have not had this much fun, been this educated, had this much of a hands on experience or just felt like somebody was genuinely our new friend that we had known for years!!! We had no idea that the Mezcal making process was so in depth. They walked us through the entire process from the time the Agave was planted until the sweet nectar met our lips!! They showed us the whole process from harvesting the agave, splitting the pina, cooking the agave, mashing with the stone driven by an actual horse, distilling, storing and aging, bottling and finally unlimited sampling. We spent the whole day at the Mezcal facility and they finished the tour with the best meal that we have had since we have been in the state of Oaxaca! These two guys have put together an experience that is well worth the money that you spend. When we were finished not only did we finally understand the ARTISAN process of making Mezcal but we made two new friends in Ricardo and Israel!! If you were hesitant about booking this tour look no further. Your expectations will be more than met!

DO THIS TOUR! It was truly the highlight of our week! Ricardo and Israel are very knowledgable, sweet, and FUN! They made everything feel like a party and we all felt like we were friends by the end of the day. Do yourself a favor and eat a big lunch before starting your tour!! There is a lot of drinking and no food until the end of the day :) Also be sure to wear close toed shoes, it makes it a lot easier to walk around the fields.

Amazing experience!! Israel picked us up on time and was super nice since the beginning. He drove us to Tlacolula where we met Ricardo and they show us every step of Mezcal making. Stunning. We tried all the different varieties of Mezcal, so good! Then they took us to a beautiful agave field where we walked around and learned new skills. You’re going to love it! To finish we ate at Ricardo’s family restaurant at Mitla with a great local food. It’s definitely something I’d recommend!!! Un día increíble! They are super friendly!!! /// Una experiencia que tienen que hacer estando en Oaxaca!!
