What you'll do

We’ll start our food-filled day with energising tropical fruit from a local vendor with the biggest smile in town! From here, we’ll head over to a delightful community project that produces organic cocoa products, supporting the female workers of the community. Learn about cocoa farming and about the processes that go into making fine organic chocolate, which you will, of course, get to try! You will be equally amazed by the delicious fruit wines they make here too. We’ll continue on to stop at a traditional street food stop the chicharronera. A very rustic place with plenty of atmosphere and here you will sample pork crackling, dried salty pork meat and our Dominican sausage, known as longaniza accompanied by casabe and a cooling local beer. After that we’ll take you to try some fresh cheese of the region. Our food tour will then take us to a popular town that’s well-known for its seafood restaurants with the typical Dominican style. We will visit our favourite restaurant and taste a variety of lip-smacking authentic Dominican dishes, all of which feature the secret seasoning that Dominican locals love!
Other things to note
Meeting point at "Entrada a la Puntilla". Your guide will be there with a red T-shirt. Follow this google maps to get there. https://goo.gl/maps/1UQVJLcdpwP2 Or contact us If you need transportation

If you don't want the common touristy places to go, or if you want to visit places off the beaten path this is the tour for you. We wanted to go where the average Domincan would go and eat. The fruit stand was awesome, the pork cracklin's were amazing, the cocoa farm was very insightful and we tried things we never would have. The lady's that work there seemed very happy that we came to share in their work life. We were so happy to be able to help support these hard workers. The restaurant we had fresh fish at was beyond awesome or amazing. Daylonis was an amazing and very informative guide. He took his time with us. I, having difficulty walking at time, was able to keep up. He made sure that I was taken care of. His knowledge of each stop made the whole experience interesting. If I had the time I would have done the tour again. I will definitely do it every time I get to the DR. I highly recommend this for everyone, even if you have a little difficulty walking. Thank you Daylonis for taking such good care of us. Thank you, thank you, thank you Jose for putting this tour together. We had a driver try to talk us out of going and wanted to take us on some fancy tour......that's not what we wanted. We wanted to get to see and taste things that the usual tourist didn't get to.
