Our excursion will begin with a tour in the city, visiting the main places of historical, religious and cultural interest, very important and well preserved by history. We will walk through the city of Trinidad until we reach the outskirts of the city and continue our carriage trip, exploring the traces of time left by the slaves in the area. Then we will arrive at the Valle de los Ingenios, we will cross fields and ruins of sugar factories, which you will have the opportunity to take pictures of country landscapes, it will be a captivating journey, full of history and myths, which had a strong influence of the slaves, leaving his contribution to the formation of Cuban nationality, his customs, traditions, songs, and accompanied by his own religion. The initial road will be approximately 3 km, until we reach the forests near the city, where we will take a break to drink water, natural juices and go to the bathroom. The other route will be towards the pilón path where you will enjoy an exclusive natural walk where you can appreciate endemic animals of the area such as jutía
and our national bird the tocororo in addition to other species of our flora and fauna, you can also drink a rich natural coffee (optional) in the mountains made by a guajiro, lunch will be optional if someone is hungry. Our experience is unique.

Trip with Dariel was real nice. It's a waterfall place not so far from the city. On the way we passed sugar cane plantation where you can get freshly squeezed sugarcane juice (with rum :). Then we passed coffee plantation where you can drink freshly roasted coffee (with rum and honey). The final point is a small waterfall and a lagoon where you can swim, water temp is nice. Further up is another waterfall (if one wishes to go). We were quite quick so I decided to do another trip with him in the afternoon- snorkeling at the Ancon beach with bikes. He quickly arranged the bikes. It's way better to bike there than to go with a taxi, it's only like 20or 25km one way. We stopped at the sand beach and there was no one, no tourists. The guy at the beach provided masks and the corals and fish were real cool, colorful. That's a really good place for snorkeling. We spoke in Spanish but he can speak in English also. He shared stories and we had a nice conversation al the time. He can also help you to arrange Casa particular and other trips as well, tell you where to go to the city or in Toppes de Colantes. (If one wishes, lunch can be arranged in a nearby restaurant, don't forget that in Cuba you pay for the guides as well).

The walking tour/hike with Alain was really great. We walked through beautiful nature and got to swim in a waterfall. But most of all we enjoyed all the things he taught us about life in Cuba, talking about local religions, politics, lifestyle, etc. It helped us to learn a bit about the "real Cuba", not just the touristic part. We would absolutely recommend this tour (or any other experience with Alain) to anyone traveling to Cuba!
