What you'll do

We will meet up at Sanjo station and take a short stroll to the restaurant (about 5 minutes). We will swing by Ponto-cho on the way, which is a really popular tourist spot. We have reserved a two-hour period, in which we can enjoy all kinds of Wagyu and enjoy any drinks offered.

After having the meal we will bound for Gion to grab some drinks at a secret bar. In Kyoto there is the 'ichigensan-principle', which means first-time customers can be denied entrance to certain restaurants and bars. Through this principle, these bars and restaurants have a very special atmosphere, where the visitors have mutual trust and are close to each other. Through my introduction, you will be able to enter as well! We will stay at the bar for about an hour - join and experience a true Japanese atmosphere!

All is included.
Other things to note
No issue - smoking is permitted. Moreover, as grilling is a main in the Wagyu techniques, you might find yourself filled with smoke (and lovely smells). You might want to know this in advance.

Have worked in AUS for four years, used to work for a large Japanese food product wholesaler to promote the infamous Wagyu beef from JP in particular.Needless to say,Wagyu is quite expensive and valuable in foreign countries as well as in JP.Wagyu beef prepared in countries other than JP lacks in quality, taste, smell, looks as compared to JP. Sushi and ramen aren't the only favourites of the Japanese, as Wagyu beef is a dish on its own every Japanese wishes to eat. If you are lucky enough to find yourself in JP as a meat-lover, you shouldn't have any excuses to not try this heavenly local beef

Where you'll be

Join me to enjoy Wagyu:)
The restaurant has a long history in preparing Wagyu. Personally I find it the best place I have ever tried Wagyu, as a Japanese! Unfortunately, as the staff lacks understanding and conversation skills in English, they usually do not take customers in who cannot speak Japanese. However, as I have worked for quite some time in English-speaking countries, I feel confident that I can guide you through this experience.

Hokuto was very friendly and fun to hangout with for an all-you-can-eat wagyu beef meal. We were in heaven. Everything was delicious. The walk through Ponto-chu and the “secret bar” were a great way to finish the evening.

Definitely would recommend to anyone traveling to Kyoto, Hokuto was very easy going and down to earth. Took us to an excellent bbq joint for dinner, a nice fancy bar afterwards. Was very friendly, gave good tips and advice for the rest of our trip and very good value for money

I had the fortune of being Hokuto's first guest and am happy to say I had a wonderful time. Both the dinner and drinks were fantastic - I was able to try many different cuts of meat that I would never have thought of trying, and given the exclusivity of many Kyoto venues it is not something I would have been able to do without being accompanied by a local person from Kyoto. Hokuto was friendly and well prepared. Highly recommend this experience for any lover of meat!

I had a great time! Hokuto was very friendly and flexible in his arrangements. I would never have know about or been able to go to the places he took us. It was a night of very tasty food and drink, and fun conversation.
