What you'll do

The idea of this tour is to help you not only see Moscow's greatest hits but to discover some hidden spots that only locals know.

We start at Pushkinskaya Square - the epicentre of Moscow’s multiple historical layers. We see the avantgarde building of the former main soviet newspaper and the first McDonald’s in Russia: witnesses to very different periods of Russian history. We will show you a 100% authentic canteen that is a real blast from the past, where you will taste Russian fast food - the famous «cheburek».

We'll continue walking along Tverskaya Street passing by some of Moscow’s main landmarks: the monument to the founder of the city and the governor’s house and you’ll learn a bit about the wonders of Soviet engeneering.

We’ll also visit a Russian Orthodox Church. We’ll then whisk you to a secret spot where you can find a moment of absolute silence while still being in the centre of a noisy metropolis.

We will finish our Moscow walk at Red Square, the famous heart of Moscow.

Where you'll be

We start at Monument to Alexander Pushkin. Then warm up at Russian local snack spot «cheburechnaya» that is rarely visited by tourists.
Visit the most unlikely of beautiful sites: a grocery store Eliseevsky that is famous for luxurious, neo-baroque interiors.
We will then learn the landmarks walking along Tverskaya street. You will get amazed by the history of moving buildings in USSR.
Finishing point is Red Square.

Definitely worth booking this experience! Our guide was lovely and very knowledgeable. We were shown the key sites plus some great places you would not know about without the guide. These added to the overall experience of the tour. We were also taken for a street food experience with locals. Great stuff!

We went on a private tour which began with an amazing metro tour and then this hidden gems walk. It was 5 hours of carefully choreographed yet leisurely exploration of the under bellies of Moscow and to surface to street level to explore further to some really cool hidden places. Think speakeasy. Really enjoyed the day that ended at the Red square. Thank you Alex for an insightful tour!

Elena is very excited about the city of Moscow and after few minutes you also love the city. She also gave us additional information after the tour via mail. Our highlight was to drink coffee/tea in a typical Muscovite appartement where you have to say a password to enter. Thank you for these unique experiences, the conversations and a great tour.
