What you'll do

We will introduce ourselves and we will discover three important signs of the commercial divergence in Havana: Market Trade, Harbor Avenue and "Jíbaro". We'll recognize ourselves in front of the Trade Market where I going to offer details about development of the most representative divergent practices of the Old Havana trade. Later we will make a brief tour of the legendary Harbor Avenue visualizing unusual characteristics on the origin of the international market and foreign investment in Cuba since the second half of the 19th century. During the walk we will go to bar Jíbaro. There, as a chat, we will talk about some guidelines that define current business strategies with state companies and private initiatives. In due course the traveler can taste the suggestive creations of "Jíbaro". In due course the traveler can taste the suggestive creations of "Jíbaro" without additional cost. Occasionally there will be an expert in related topics attending the suggestion of a visitor. Finally we will seal the meeting giving the visitor a catalog of events for the 500th anniversary of the founding of Havana.

I had a lovely tour and dinner with Roxana! She is very knowledgable of her research interest and has a very approachable personality. It will be more helpful if you speak Spanish so you can understand the experience better.
