What you'll do

Yoga (and meditation as a whole) is a means to create more clarity within a human being. Clarity within the body means health, clarity of the mind means tranquility and focus, and clarity of the energies means becoming more sensitive to life around us, experiencing the whole as one.

The classes usually begin with a brief introduction on Yoga and meditation. We would then jump into some stretching and light warm-ups, before going into the more technical aspects of the practice, where we would explore our bodies through postures, breathing techniques and movement.

As we go deeper into the practice, the exercises become less physical and more internal, or spiritual, leading the practitioners into an intimate meeting with themselves, which serves as the basic step towards self transformation. Mantras are also usually used, followed by a guided meditation, which allows the participants to enter into a state of complete mental and physical stillness, which in turn give birth to utmost well-being and intensity.

After every session, we usually have a small Q&A session and discussions where participants could share their experience if they ever feel the need. Guidelines for a healthier overall life is also explored, where dietary and lifestyle recommendations are given in order to lead a healthier, happier, and a more vibrant existence.

My name is Omar Schekhli, born on December 5th of 1984 to an Iraqi father and a Moroccan mother, and from the age of 6 I've been practicing martial arts which have led me to studying its more spiritual aspects which are based mostly on Zen Buddhism. I embraced Zen as a way of life at the age of 13, and since then I have evolved more towards inner well-being, meditation and a healthy way of living.

I've practiced and studied with many different masters who helped me evolve physically and spiritually. Martial arts have led me to Yoga and meditation as a whole, and in 2016, I finally had my first opportunity to train at Sadhguru's Isha Yoga Center of South India, and that was also the year where I've began to conduct public events where I would teach. Since then, I've had nothing but great feedback.

Where you'll be

The main place of practice is at my own appartment, also known as Akasha Temple, due to its tranquility and vibrant energy, emanating from certain elements in the temple and surrounded by beautiful natural scenery. The space at the temple can take up to 10 people.

The forest is actually a huge park which is green and full of trees, and is a safe and secure place to be in.
