What you'll do

We start with a caffè gourmet made by the best barista of Bologna.

Then we start our shopping through Quadrilatero and Mercato delle Erbe food markets. We visit stalls and family shops to create our own lunch.

We also visit a traditional fresh pasta artisan with 2 ladies fighting about who makes the best tortellini, tortelloni and tagliatelle.

Then we stop for lunch in an old osteria to share food opinions, relax and taste famous and hidden cold cuts, local cheese, bread and Balsamic vinegar.

We finish our day with a gelato tasting, because Bologna is also the city of Gelato

Hi there, I'm Andrea!

I was born as an IT engineer but I prefer food to data.

In 2013 I created Taste Bologna to spread let help people fall in love with Bologna and its food.

With Rick Stein on BBC and Phil Rosenthal on Netflix it worked pretty great.

Now Taste Bologna is a team of enthusiastic locals, who share the passion for authentic food.

I did this tour my last day in town, and wished I had done it earlier so I could go back to some of the great places Elena introduced me to. I was a little nervous about my options, as I've got celiac's, but there were good options at every stop, and Elena was very careful to identify any items that were off limits for me (or the other people on the tour who had specific allergies). I learned a lot, the food was great, and it was a wonderful way to close out my tour. I'd definitely recommend it for serious and casual foodies.
