What you'll do

You will learn to assemble your own amulets from objects I have already gathered from around the island. Bring some of your own if you like. You can make anything from small bundles or body adornment to large scale driftwood pieces for hanging in the house.
Indigenous people and in particular those performing Shamanic Practices , know the importance of connecting to the earth and nature and the huge benefits this has to our daily lives. Making our own amulets is one way we can participate in these practices. These totems harness the natural healing and protective powers of the land and as Gozo sits on a bed rock of crystal it emits powerful energy, Artists and healers have been drawn here for this reason? Nature is beautifully creative without our help and if we listen and watch carefully it will pass on its secrets to us. This leads us to self enquiry and meditation.
We can all make these energy amplifiers it just takes a concentrated intention.

This workshop ties in well with The Art of Spirit Dolls and The Art of Sigils.

I have worked as a designer/artist/gallery owner for 35 years. I now live on the island of Gozo, the quieter sister island to Malta. My studio and gallery are in the heart of Victoria. I am a mixed media artist, using the natural resources of the Island in my work. I take much pleasure in helping others discover their creative path and connectedness to the earth through indigenous art forms.

We liked this experience very much. Sarah was nice and she guided us through the experience very smoothly... Now we have a piece of Malta with us, and a nice new friend. Very recommendable.

I had a wonderful time with Sarah and her sigil and amulet making workshops, very inspiring. Sarah is very friendly and I really liked the atmosphere of the gallery. It was fun to focus on the feeling of being creative. Sarah knows many things about sjamanism and stories about Gozo and the environment. I am very happy with the things i made this day.

I had never made an Amulet before, but Sarah made it easy from the outset. She has a beautiful studio and her work is really inspiring. There are lots of exciting materials available to play with including driftwood, shells, stones, crystals, feathers and fabric to mention just a few. I made two Amulets during the course and am now inspired to start collecting my own personal stash of goodies so I can do some more creating. A really relaxing few hours:)
